  1. Many posters have pointed that out already. moonsLav just doesn't pay attention.
  2. He's just not as good as Duvall IMO. Duvall is a better defender and has higher upside offensively.
  3. Mike Trout is a choker.
  4. It wasn't just the USA that didn't have their best pitchers going.
  5. 100%.
  6. I'd like that every year.
  7. 70 pitches? Check! 5 innings? Check!!! Sounds like a good ST start to me!
  8. The 2011 Red Sox.
  9. @IanMBrowne Sale finished strong. His last two innings were scoreless. He threw 70 pitches in five innings. One more start in Spring Training.
  10. Is that a threat?
  11. He's a good replacement for Renfroe, especially if he were in RF instead of CF. C McGuire 1B Casas 2B Arroyo SS Story 3B Devers RF Duvall CF Hernandez LF Yoshida DH Turner
  12. As long as he's healthy, I'm not worried about it.
  13. I don't see Arroyo batting leadoff. They are a very left handed heavy team right now. Good chance 1 and 2 are both left handed hitters IMO.
  14. I think it's going to be: Verdugo Devers Turner Yoshida Duvall Casas Kiké McGuire Arroyo
  15. Just have a season with 150 games?
  16. Agreed. 100% Even if the pitchers are just going 1-2 innings at a time.
  17. PTBNL acquired from Royals On Sunday, the Red Sox acquired infield prospect Angel Pierre from the Royals as the player to be named later in the Adalberto Mondesi/Josh Taylor trade from January. Pierre, 19, signed with Kansas City as an international free agent coming out of the Dominican Republic last winter. The right-handed hitter spent the 2022 season in the Dominican Summer League and batted 300/.424/.500 with 11 doubles, four triples, two home runs, 19 RBIs, 23 runs scored, nine stolen bases, 21 walks, and 31 strikeouts in 33 games (125 plate appearances) while seeing the majority of his playing time come at third base. He has been assigned to Boston's Florida Complex League affiliate.
  18. So peak Yoshida may be more like 2011 Pedroia than 2018 JD Martinez. 20 HR with a high OBP. Randy Arozarena if he didn't strike out over 25%. 2022 was a bad year for LFers, but he could be a top 5 LFer.
  19. I mean, that's the LA Dodgers model, right?
  20. Yeah, I think his SLG will go down, but he should continue to have a high OBP. I don't know if he'll be a great #4, but should be able to stick somewhere in the top of the lineup.
  21. @alexspeier Rehab update: James Paxton is throwing a bullpen session
  22. Seems like he can hit. Seems like he can field well enough to at least play LF. Maybe he'll make the "unnamed" scouts and execs look dumb? Maybe not.
  23. ACTUALLY, he's only a DH and the Sox overpaid for him! His defense is terrible!
  24. From 2004-22, the only season the Marlins made the playoffs was 2020 when fans couldn't show up to games. Attendance did increase in 04 and 05 after their WS win. I think that fanbase just needs to be given a reason to show up.
  25. If you haven't been paying attention to Masataka Yoshida in the WBC: @SmittyOnMLB Yoshida is 9-for-19 (.474) with a .571 on-base percentage, .842 slugging percentage, 1.413 OPS, two homers, one double, five runs, 13 RBIs, three walks and no strikeouts in six WBC games. The 13 RBI is more than any other Japan player has for their career at the WBC.
