  1. Also to note, Bleier's velo is WAY down early on. Not sure if that is normal for him, but a 36 year old reliever losing 2 mph is not great. Need to monitor him going forward.
  2. I think you need to pick the prospects you want to keep and deal the ones you believe are at the zenith of their value (Houston with Valdez and Abreu?). Don't deal them all, but don't hoard them all either.
  3. Do they become so dominant without Price, Sale, Kimbrel and JD? Ben could probably sign JD and Price, but would he be able to do the Sale and Kimbrel deals?
  4. I don't know if he could do a Sale or Kimbrel trade. Chaim is doing what Ben did. Need a younger version of Dombo who can be competitive while trying to maintain the farm.
  5. Rose was a good pitcher until his elbow issues in 1998.
  6. I really liked what I saw of him at 2B. I don't like constant tinkering. I know his arm was already diminished. Why even try moving him to SS? Doesn't make sense to me.
  7. Defensive metrics early on are wild. -1 DRS, 5.8 UZR/150, 1 OAA. Haven't watched any ChiSox games, so can't really comment.
  8. Brasier has Matt Barnes disease right now; he's not throwing first pitch strikes. His appearances against the Pirates were an improvement over the slop he served against the Orioles though. Maybe he can slowly turn it around. Ort isn't walking anyone, but isn't fooling anyone either. Swinging Strike % of only 3.3! Contact % 93.3! If you get a clean inning out of him, feel blessed and have him hit the showers. Kelly is working with a hard hit % of 54.5! His ERA is 1.93, but all 3 of his pitches are assigned negative values on FanGraphs for 2023. Adding in a BB rate of 7.71% means that Kelly could be the first guy optioned to AAA IMO.
  9. Luis Perales is starting for Salem today.
  10. The Orioles didn't run wild in their next series the way they did against the Sox.
  11. Andrus has a 297 OPS right now.
  12. Booing is always an option.
  13. I mean, unless the Bucs are an upstart team this year and make a run at the Wild Care, it's pretty damn embarrassing.
  14. It's zero. I don't see anyone on here who really toes their line.
  15. I'm fine with the Story signing IF AND ONLY IF they see him as a 2B and NOT a SS.
  16. I'd send him to AAA so that he can continue to start.
  17. Not even the middle of April.
  18. IF he's the good version of Paxton.
  19. @ChrisCotillo Garrett Whitlock is likely to make his 2023 debut on Tuesday in St. Petersburg.
  20. I agree, they'll be above .500.
  21. I played in a death metal band. People either loved us or they hated us... or they thought we were okay. A lot of death metal bands have intense names, like "Rigormortis" or "Mortuary" or "Obituary". We weren't that intense, we just went with "Injured".
  22. This team has the same talent as last year's team IMO. The names are different and the talent is spread out a little. Think of how horrendous the pen was.
  23. And now we're in it.
  24. Relievers are tied for 6th in fWAR. One of 5 teams to not give up a HR. 5th in FIP.
  25. Per Mike Andrews: Bryan Mata up 1 to #6 Shane Drohan up 10 to #12 Chris Murphy down 4 to #17 Marvin Alcantara up 10 to #21 Brainer Bonaci down 6 to #22 Luis Guerrero up 4 to #25 Christian Koss up 5 to #28 Chase Meidroth up 6 to #30 Brooks Brannon down 6 to #31 Allan Castro up 11 to #33 Luis Ravelo up 11 to #34 Jedixson Paez down 7 to #35 Johanfran Garcia debuts at #37 Christopher Troye debuts at #39 Phillip Sikes debuts at #45 Alex Hoppe debuts at #46 Andy Lugo debuts at #47 Tyler Uberstine down 16 to #50 Alex Binelas down 16 to #51 Johnfrank Salazar down 17 to #54
