Well people want this team to compete right now. The more I look at this roster, the less I think it's plausible. They have a possibly great offense as some of their younger guys can keep improving, and Story may get back to near-career offensive levels, and their BP is serviceable, but they have neither effective nor dependable starting pitching. That's why they shouldn't have sold any important players or prospects to lightly boost what we all know is a flawed roster. It's also not about money, as they have always shown a willingness to spend, making that argument nonsense. They need to revamp and rebuild the SP, and focus on next year with a more cohesive roster. Letting the current one ride out the year is fine though.
