I have to find a couple reasonable links for the time the Sox tried acquiring him before he was traded to SD .
I'll keep looking 'till i find it.
Question:
Do i have to provide a link for this year when he obviously did try to acquire him?
Or only for the time he tried to get him before Texas traded him to SD?
Every rule has its exception.
And remember AG is a player Theo covets and has tried to acquire twice in the past.
The major question, to me, is whether SD actually wants to trade him.
I'm not saying it's not possible.
I'm just pointing out the amount of variables in this equation:
Option A:
A) Minnie wanting to trade Mauer.
B ) The Sox having the parts Minnie wants for Mauer.
C) Getting the contract negotiation window.
D) Striking the actual contract.
Option B:
Sign him as a FA.
Gonzales would be the exception to your rule.
He's already in a place that suppresses his power, and he's a pretty darn good 1B.
But let me tell you something, the FO has the need to make this deal for reasons that are extremely well-known to you.
Oh?
It wasn't part of the deal for Holliday.
Until such a thing actually happens, i'm sticking with going for the guy who'd under team control for more than one year so we don't find ourselves in the dilemma that the Cards are facing now.
You don't get it.
I love Bay and want him back.
However, let's make it simply.
In the hypothetical scenario that you had either Bay/Fielder or Bay/AGonzales coupled up on this team.
Who'd you hit 4th?
