  1. Not only that, but apparently even though Drew had a better season offensively (he led Swisher in every important offensive category except HR and the stuff of legend, RBI, and don't get me started on OPS: .914 to .869) and defense ( i don't even need stats for this one, because Swisher is f***ing horrible in RF) Swisher was still more "effective" than Drew. Go f***ing figure.
  2. If they don't count on him as the hands down 5th starter, i'm ok with that. Specially if they bring him in after June.
  3. Do you watch baseball sir?
  4. That's what i've always said, yet have been called unrealistic. I think it's a longshot simply because of the package it would require, but trading him and bringing its farm back from the land of the dead is a sensible idea for SD.
  5. To e1: I understand your man-crush for Felix, but there's no chance they trade him if they can extend him, and like Clint said, the Schill and Dice-K situations were completely different.
  6. This argument is failthought. Closing the payroll disparity would create much more benefits to the lower-end teams than the pittance they receive from the revenue sharing system. Also, to y228. Whether or not they helped create the current advantage doesn't matter because it's still an unfair advantage.
  7. The "they make the more money, so they should spend the most money" argument is ridiculous. Nobody cares about that. The advantage is unfair, and that's that. It's like trying to defend a multiple-killer with a "he did it for his family" argument. Jesus Christ.
  8. No player is untouchable. But logic would dictate that Seattle would do everything in their power to extend him before trading him. No one here is saying Theo's an idiot, but "it takes two to Tango", and Seattle is a team that's a couple of breaks from making the playoffs. Let's stick to reality here, please. The other teams in MLB are not feeding tubes for the Yanks and Sox.
  9. The sky is blue. There is good in the world.
  10. That lobster is a f***ing faggot.
  11. If you find me a mobster who wears one, i'll call him a faggot.
  12. 93.1 IP the next year. I'm glad you're not part of the Sox FO.
  13. This argument holds zero water. You're talking about paying a 37 year old pitcher 20 million. That's what the Dodgers thought about Kevin Brown and look how that turned out. What happened to that 37-year-old pitcher? What happened after 2004?
  14. 26.9 million is a pittance compared to the Yankees' spending power.
  15. Handing a 5+, 100 mill + contract to a 32-year-old pitcher is a recipe for disaster IMHO.
  16. The real factor here is whether he'll be reluctant to accept a contract extension in the case that he was dead set on leaving Seattle. Otherwise, he stays a Mariner
  17. He's also not playing every game at Fenway champ.
  18. The problem with Hawpe is that he's the worst defensive player in the Major Leagues, the stats say it, and just watching him over a couple games gives you the feeling that the man has no idea what the f*** he's doing in the OF. About the "Coors effect": One glance at his stats will tell you he's pretty good away from Coors by his own standards. You don't need to use Holliday a s a benchmark even though the premise is correct.
  19. Generalization much?
