  1. Buster Olney does not know what Jed Hoyer wants more than Jed Hoyer himself. That is the truth of the matter. The hold-up on the trade is the fact that Theo is reluctant to trade two of Kelly/West/Jacoby/Buch in the same package.
  2. Hoyer wants Clay plus Kelly or Westmoreland. One of many sources claiming Hoyer asked for a package of Buch, Kelly OR Westmoreland and a couple other prospects.
  3. Memories of 2005 still haunt me........
  4. Johnny Damon is no longer in LF.
  5. Yes you would, i would be first in line. No decent RH 1B options, apparently.
  6. Miguel Cabrera's a fantastic option, but although he seems much more likely than Hanley, there are still some problems about the premise of acquiring, mainly the Tigers' interest in dealing him (i believe they could be swayed though) and the fact that this FO hates divas, and Cabrera is a Manny type diva.
  7. Floyd's still pretty good though. A 4.06 ERA and 193.0 innings is nothing to sneeze at.
  8. Buehrle, Floyd and Danks are pretty good too.
  9. Yeah not happening. Kelly is untouchable.
  10. I think it's fairly simple the conclude she meant the two that ended in WS titles.....
  11. Oh but of course, you are absolutely correct, the point was that, even though the AL East probably has better pitching, there is still some high level-elite pitching in the NL West.
  12. Just like the Holliday argument, where i had to agree to a "draw" just so you would stop bitching and moaning? He had a hole in the upper inside part of the plate, but had a .963 OPS middle in, and 1.640 middle down against Fastballs, so he had a hole on the upper inside part of the plate, but murdered them everywhere else inside, meaning he can hit inside fastballs, and the argument was fabrication by you,and i don't need insults and name calling to prove you wrong, because that's what you think a strong argument consists of. The argument is legit, take the time to look through the charts away from NYS (you haven't) for Matsui, and you'll see that he sprays balls everywhere, the fact that a lot of his HR's go to RF only helps strengthen my argument. 12 of Cano's 14 HR's at NYS were also directly to RF, which is the basis of the argument. When Cano hits for power, he pulls the ball to straightaway right, so does Posada, so does Johnny Damon, i didn't use Matsui because someone who actually did research would have easily come to the conclusion that away from NYS (where he had the most success) he hit for power to all fields. In all honesty, i'm done here, but i will beg you to please start acting your age, and make a consistent argument without sounding like a 13-year old. Also, leave Emmz out of the argument. The only reason she jumps in is because she doesn't want me to go ape s*** because of your constant baiting and get banned, but quite frankly, if you keep this up (and you probably will) someone will get banned, and it won't be me.
  13. Consider this: Adrian Gonzales home/away splits: Home: .244/.413/.446 .859 OPS Away: .306/.402/.643 1.045 OPS. You don't think he would massively improve on those numbers at Fenway enough to justify a statistical progression even if he regresses on the road? My point on the issue is, that unless there is some sort of indicator as to Hanley's availability, i wouldn't count on him as a trade target.
  14. Well you're ignoring the stats adjustment from Petco to Fenway. And as long as Gonzales is reported as available and Hanley isn't, i don't mean it as an insult, but i'll believe the media sources.
  15. http://www.hittrackeronline.com/parks/Ramirez_Hanley_2009_scatter.jpg This is the chart for Hanley Ramirez. As you can see from the illustration, Adrian Gonzales actually hit more HR's (21) than Hanley (20) to Left Field.
  16. http://www.hittrackeronline.com/parks/Gonzalez_Adrian_2009_scatter.jpg Adrian Gonzales hit 21 HRs to the opposite field last year, with a number between 10-20 fly balls that would have been either 2B's or HR's at Fenway Park instead of Petco. He had a .306 BA with 43 XBH (28 HR's, 15 2B's) outside of Petco Park last year. Then there's also the issue that, unlike Hanley, he's been reported as available by several media outlets, so he would not only be the better choice (unless you were going by positional standards) but also the most realistic and cost-effective one.
