  1. Stats say otherwise. Stats are not biased against a player.
  2. 12 Opening day starts.
  3. Au contraire, you wouldn't have referenced it if it wasn't important to you. Again, i was merely responding to Crunchy. W-L% should be inconsequential to a pitcher's HOF case, but the fact that you so fervently defend the point means you care for it, or you wouldn't have defended Crunchy's stance. That or you didn't read what he said in the first place, meaning you were just arguing for the sake of arguing, which would be worse IMO.
  4. You mean when i said it in response to Crunchy's statement that he was a .500 pitcher, to which you responded that i was making an excuse for his "lousy record" therefore defending the importance of his W-L record?
  5. You keep pining for wins in one post, then discounting them in another. You've used win% several times in the current discussion. Straw what?
  6. Fair enough. I just firmly believe the importance of each pitcher to their respective teams to be similar.
  7. Couple more interesting notes from Rich Lederer: Wins and All-Star game appearances are ********. It's that simple.
  8. The point was never that Wang wasn't an important part of their rotation, but that he and Dice-K were each number three in their respective rotation, meaning that the blow suffered to each rotation was similar.
  9. Yankee Stadium is a launching pad for lefties, but it's a neutral park for righties.
  10. Ring's just way too wild. 1.553 career WHIP, with 5.5 BB/9. Granted it's only 65 innings, but goddamn.
  11. Nah dude. Miller is a launching pad for lefties that's around league average for righties, but it's not Fenway, which is a launching pad for righties.
  12. Winfree's a good depth signing. He's a RHH with some pop against southpaws.
  13. I say no on regression for Cameron or Jeter. If Posada catches less than 120 games, no on him either.
  14. Really? Do you have any way to know if any player (Lowell included) didn't use steroids at some point in their career?
  15. This has to be a joke, because if it isn't, then please check the stats.
  16. Specially if you have a consistent home-road offense, which the Yankees have.
  17. Not to mentions he did not lose velocity, it was very good towards the end of last year, and that's the first thing you notice on a pitcher coming off a severe shoulder injury
  18. Hahahahah. Well played.
