  1. Hermida has turned out to be an extremely helpful pickup.
  2. McDonald looked every bit the 5th OF he is in that AB.
  3. This 3B coach sucks ass.
  4. Just turned on the game, what the hell happened? Is Wakefield bringing the suck?
  5. You've been whining about the infamous logjam all year long, and this is a completely different stance from your initial statement, which referred to Beltre being an ill-advised signing, well Beltre's helping carry the club both offensively and defensively, and there hasn't been an actual issue that would create the need for Lowell to be dropped from the roster. The team is functioning correctly, and if Scutaro gets a bump or bruise as you said, and the situation calls for it, then they can grant Lowell his release. For there to be a logjam, there has to be an impasse with no firsthand solution to the issue, this is a complete turnaround from your earlier take on the "logjam" issue, which was a criticism of the FO for the Beltre signing, and now that his performance has caught up to the press clippings, you need another take on the issue to continue complaining.
  6. For a precedent to exist, it must be set.
  7. First off, there was a taker in Texas, but it fell through because of the finger issue, now with that cleared up, there is renewed interest in Lowell, and with the Sox willing to eat a huge chunk of his salary, there is no need for the receiving team to pay his salary, and the Sox aren't asking for high-level talent in return. He'll get traded, and the roster spot will be freed up. I don't know why you keep making such a fuss about the famous logjam issue. For one, Bill Hall has looked acceptable when given the chance to play MIF, because, after all, he is an utility player, and i don't see how the fact that we don't have a Glove McNoodlebat to back up 2B/SS is actively hampering the Sox' chance of winnin. Just saying.
  8. Dice-K has a 1.39 WHIP this year, and Andy Pettite has a career 1.36 WHIP, and he enjoyed three consecutive seasons of below league average ERA with a WHIP in the 1.40 range. Some guys (like him and Wakefield, who has a career 1.35 WHIP and a bunch of years of 1.4-1.5 WHIP with good results) can overcome the issue of allowing lots of baserunners by avoiding the "big inning", something Matsuzaka did in 2008 but has thus far been unable to in 2010. Lackey's current WHIP is an aberration, as he has a career 1.32 mark, but is coming of four consecutive seasons with a WHIP under 1.3. It'll correct itself soon enough.
  9. Add to that the Rangers again, who just lost Guerrero to an eye injury, and Minessota, who need a RH bat to play 3B and DH against lefties, and while this is speculation on my part, there is no doubt reported interest from at least those three teams in Lowell. I'm not making it up.
  10. suns, it has been widely reported that the Guardians were concerned with V-Mart's decline in offense after 100+ games were caught in a season.
  11. Don't make stuff up, counselor, it ruins your credibility. As for V-Mart, he's a catcher, and he will catch. Opponent's running game has been greatly neutralized. I see no issue with having V-Mart catch five days a week.
  12. Hall's played capably when given the chance. The logjam's in your mind. Lowell's getting traded.
  13. The Red Sox are an awesome awesome team. Funny how now no one's complaining about poorly constructed rosters, lack of offense, etc etc etc. Winning cures every ailment.
  14. More media fodder to criticize the umps. MLB is going to have to get their hands dirty with this issue sooner or later.
  15. The hell? Matsuzaka has zero walks through six.
  16. Galarraga's perfecto broken up with two outs in the ninth by rookie Jason Donald.
  17. Oh wow, Ortiz is "In the zone". Right now the man can do no wrong.
