  1. So, your contention is that Girardi and Pena and Posada are bad at calling games? Don't know about that.
  2. Ah, gotcha. Still a silly reactionary thread.
  3. Silly reactionary thread. Their pitch selection can't be that bad; they did, after all, lead all of baseball in OBP...
  4. They still have Konerko.
  5. This Phil's lineup can go toe-to-toe against the Yanks' lineup. The Yankees have their work cut out for them.
  6. It's also kind of disrespectful for a newbie with 4 posts to pass judgment.
  7. But it looked like he tried to spit on the ball. Intent is kind of important here.
  8. Haha, I've never liked Broxton all that much, but that guy can f***ing bring it.
  9. LOL and here I thought Kate Hudson was his main squeeze.
  10. I don't think Broxton wanted any part of Stairs. Walked him on 4 straight.
  11. It's so hard to be a GM when you have a blank check to work with every season...
  12. The backwards Ks would make the pain worthwhile.
  13. I've always wanted to be able to throw a cut fastball. Such a nasty pitch.
  14. Bill Cartwright.
  15. Ah, my bad. Izturis. Not a smart play and not a smart post.
  16. WTF Figgins! Not a smart play.
  17. What a hot stove buzzkill. I hope they were joking about going after Mark Mulder. Sheets and Harden are good options for a 5th starter, assuming their arms are still attached in October. Sheets would probably be cheaper, since he missed all of last season.
  18. Trading Papelbon is a good idea if you have an elite closer lined up to replace him. Bard is unproven. Yeah, Papelbon's attitude rubs people the wrong way and yeah he pissed Game 3 away, but he is an insanely good closer. There are very few closers out there who are as reliable as him.
  19. I think you're selling both teams short.
  20. There is no excuse for not signing one of them. It is absolutely essential for this team to have one of them next season. Theo can match or go above just about any offer. It needs to get done. If it doesn't, the Sox will not contend.
  21. If the Sox don't sign either of them, Theo will have really dropped the ball and should probably lose his job.
  22. If he's drunk for wanting Lackey, so am I.
  23. Yes, putting the ball in play can result in GIDP. But as I said a strikeout is never a productive out.
