  1. From MLB Trade Rumors: Asked about trading Joey Votto, Jocketty replied, "Oh God, no." Votto isn't going anywhere.
  2. P - Adam Wainwright (1) C - Yadier Molina (2) 1ST - Adrian Gonzalez (2) 2ND - Orlando Hudson (4) 3RD - Ryan Zimmerman (1) SS - Jimmy Rollins (3) OF - Shane Victorino (2) OF - Michael Bourn (1) OF - Matt Kemp (1)
  3. Yeah, Gutierrez definitely got snubbed.
  4. Dye will be 36 next year and had an abysmal second half (.179/.293/.297). I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole.
  5. Good to see Buehrle finally get recognized.
  6. Way to needlessly enter politics into the discussion.
  7. Wow, what happened to him?
  8. If you look closely, you can see the BYU players elbowing her in the ribs and pulling on her shorts before she goes ape s***. I chalk it up to dirty play on both sides and PMS.
  9. Miguel Olivo is also available as a backup catcher. Torrealba threw out 14% of baserunners last year. He's at 29% for his career. Olivo threw out 26% of baserunners last year. He's at 34% for his career. Offensively, they're about a wash. Although Olivo has a lot more power. Neither one of them is anything special, but given the choice I'd probably go after Olivo. From a purely defensive standpoint, Henry Blanco is probably the best option out there, even though he's a dinosaur. Threw out 40% of baserunners last year. He's at 43% for his career.

    Strikeforce

I could've gone to this thing; it's like 15 minutes away from where I live.
  11. Not true. They had s***** attendance in 2003 when they won the WS.
  12. Other than cost, I honestly don't know why some of you are so reticent to deal Buchholz to try and land Felix. Felix is a proven stud. Buccholz hasn't done jack.
  13. Hermida has been a huge disappointment up to this point, but with the right hitting coaches he could blossom and become the player everyone thought he was going to be. Or he could simply be a bust.
  14. Giving up Getz and Fields for Teahen is a steal for the White Sox. Getz is a smart player and a good baserunner, but he doesn't get on base nearly enough to allow you to overlook his lack of extra base hits. Fields is an underachiever whose last name belies the fact that he can't field at all. And on a personal level, I don't like him because he seriously mused retirement because... wait for it... he doesn't like what goes on in a clubhouse. True story.
  15. The Marlins are a bad example because their fans don't show up to the park. At all. I don't blame their FO for letting all their great players go. From a business standpoint, it makes all the sense in the world.
  16. He has long hair and plays where the hippie movement started. I would have been shocked if he didn't smoke.
  17. He's trolling in the rain Just trolling in the rain What a glorious feelin' He's happy again
  18. Rondo is better than LeBron and Chris Paul because he has a championship and they don't? Best. Logical. Fallacy. Ever.

  20. There was no team of the 2000s. IMO, you have to have some sort of dynasty to qualify. And two rings, as impressive as that is, isn't a dynasty. Probably splitting hairs here, but I firmly believe anything less than three rings isn't a dynasty.
  21. I like Iwamura as well. I also like saying his full name. Akinori Iwamura. Awesome name. Guess this means Ben Zobrist will become the Rays' everyday 2nd baseman.
  22. I like Rondo's ability to elevate his game in the playoffs. If he can ever develop a mid-range jumper, look out. On a team of aging veterans who are at the twilight of their careers, locking up someone like Rondo is a good thing any way you slice it.
  23. Manuel is a dumbass. Bringing Lee out again for the 8th, taking Victorino out... this game was a lot closer than it should have been. IMO, Pedro needs to give the Phils 6 solid innings for them to have a shot at winning Game 6. If they have to dip into that godforsaken bullpen before the 6th inning, they'll really have an uphill battle. The good news is the same principle probably applies to Pettitte and the Yanks. The bad news is Pettitte is evidently very good when trying to clinch a series. If there is a Game 7, Hamels needs to get his mind right. None of this season ending early ********.
