  1. Haha, nicest member on Talksox. Good one.
  2. They were right about Pedro, but Damon proves they're not flawless when it comes to their evaluations.
  3. Back on topic, isn't is possible the FO was wrong about Bay's deteriorating health? They were dead wrong on Damon being finished.
  4. Baiting. Trolling. Victim card. A pattern.
  5. My mistake. Driving runs in and RBIs aren't analogous. Not aggressive enough with RISP? I call BS. What did Imperial say? As a cleanup hitter, he'd be on pace for 120 RBIs? For a guy who claims to back up arguments with stats, you're kind of ignoring your calling card here. Not aggressive enough.
  6. I also think Youk would be more than adequate as a cleanup hitter. The numbers with RISP speak for themselves.
  7. I agree. I'm just saying I've heard a lot of posters say it is a garbage stat.
  8. I thought RBIs weren't an important stat...
  9. BSN07 said they're losing a little bit of offense. That couldn't be further from the truth. I'm still not sold that a 37-year old player will have the impact you seem to think he will have.
  10. If you go by projections, the Sox are losing a lot of offense, according to Bill James. Jason Bay's projections Mike Cameron's projections
  11. Dipre, you can't honestly believe the lineup won't suffer with Mike Cameron in place of Jason Bay. The defense is better, the pitching is better, the lineup is not better. Until the Sox get Holliday or Gonzalez, there is no other way to look at it.
  12. DeRosa will definitely help the Giants, but they still need a couple more bats, IMO. If Buster Posey is MLB-ready, that would go a long way. Should have traded Zito for Bradley. Both have underperformed. Both have big contracts. Both have two years remaining. It probably never even occurred to Hendry.
  13. There must be a lot of stupid Yankee fans on FanGraphs. They're projecting Hughes will start 34 games, Chamberlain will start 38 games, and Vazquez will start 36 games. LMAO!
  14. I agree that 3.3 BB/9 isn't the end of the world, but it's by far his highest walk total since his rookie year in '05. Could be a cause for concern.
  15. I think part of Dye's problem in the 2nd half was his frame of mind. He was pretty sure he wasn't coming back to the Sox and for awhile it looked like he might be traded before the deadline. I think this weighed heavily on him. Obviously, this is purely speculation, but everyone likes job security.
  16. True, but Iglesias was only 19 when he signed. I wouldn't call any 19-year old a professional.
  17. He would be better off if he stayed in the NL, but that applies to just about everyone. However, you might be right about the Rangers. In 9 starts at their park, Garland's numbers are bad beyond belief.
  18. I don't expect an .800 OPS. Bill James projected a .756 OPS. I'd say that's a little low, but I could see an OPS in the range of .765 - .780.
  19. Cameron will be 37 next season. If he weren't so old, I'd have to agree with you. I know he's been fairly consistent throughout his career, but 37 is 37. My expectations for Cameron aren't nearly as high as some fans.
  20. It's possible. Randy Johnson's best years came after he turned 30. I still think Vazquez is going to have nightmares pitching at NYS, but you never know.
  21. Forgot about Ray Rice. You could also nominate Sidney Rice. I know it's largely due to Favre, but he's still had a helluva season.
  22. Wow, I'm sorry I can't be as cool as you, man. Spud is a stud. I'm sorry that I'm a troll and I've been harassing Emmz? Lol wut. I'm sorry that Dipre and Emmz don't know how to argue without resorting to ad hominem and are an annoying united front. I'm sorry that I don't like it when Dipre calls people "champ." I guess I must be a tool and a dick for speaking my mind. At least I'm not asinine. That doesn't offend you, does it? Why should it? According to you and Dipre, it only means you're silly. It has no pejorative connoations whatsoever. How asinine of me for thinking otherwise.
