    Miller Park is a hitter's park. What about his age? He's 37 now. Jeter is a year and a half younger. Posada is not quite a year older. According to you, they will almost certainly regress. I can't argue with that, but why the double standard for Cameron?

    Some spin job on my part when I say that Granderson had a much higher OPS+ than Matsui in 2007 and 2008. 135 to 123 123 to 108 Matsui also missed a lot of games in 2006 and 2008. Granderson is a lot younger, has been durable, and isn't limited to being a DH like Matsui. It could be a downgrade. It could be a wash. Or it could be an upgrade. The point is it's not really definitive.

    Granderson's career BA is irrelevant. His BA is all over the place. You're acting like last season is the only season he's ever played. Just because he had a bit of a down year doesn't mean he'll have another one. Especially when he is now in a much more hitter-friendly park. Swisher's OPS+ in 2009 was 129. His OPS+ in 2006 was 125. His OPS+ in 2007 was 126. There is also a good chance he won't regress. Melky Cabrera isn't that good. Not really a big loss. Jeter had his best OPS+ since he was 32, not 25. Stop making s*** up to fit your argument.

    I hadn't thought about that. Makes sense. LaRussa is a crafty guy and has always backed McGwire. To a fault. Couldn't agree more. I don't think anyone is buying that it was just hard work, God-given ability, and great eye-hand coordination that allowed him to flourish in his mid-thirties.
