  1. Chris Snyder, C Please slide Mike Napoli into the DH spot.
  2. Indeed, and over his las 300 or so at bats he's even been making contact with the ball. What I don't know is how he is as a defender.
  3. You might be selling Cruz a bit short there. But you are right about Texas augmenting his hitting stats.
  4. Well I have to admit I looked right past Kelly Johnson. I probably wouldn't have drafted him, but he definitely does make his team better and he's healthy and pretty dependable, I wouldn't have drafted him because he really doesn't have the speed I was looking for and I've heard talk of moving him to 1B in the past, which I interpreted as being a mediocre defender. I guess it's a question of what you feel the best possible fit for your team was, and I wanted to get Granderson's triples power up to bat with more runners on base. Not bad at all, especially as 2B go, but I'm still fine with Weeks. Johnson's a bit too dependent on his breakout year in 2007 setting his reputation for my tastes.
  5. One of a large number of people who could serve at least in a fill-in role.
  6. Lowell is having an off year and still outperforming Crede. Please try to keep the idiocy at reasonable levels Jacko.
  7. You'd really rather have Crede or Teahen? My point is that as bad as he's been if we shop him Lowell is still one of the better trade options for a team needing a third sacker.
  8. I disagree. A third baseman with Lowell's skillset is pretty valuable and they're not as easy as all that to find. Look around the league. Sure there's a handful of superstars at 3B like Longoria, A-Rod, etc. but the depth of elite talent is actually shallower at 3B than it is at SS or even 2B right now. And most of what is out there is either young and underdeveloped (Gordon, Encarnacion) or old and declining (Glaus, Rolen, Lowell). Not a lot of all-star caliber 3B's in their prime right now, only really Aramis Ramirez and A-Rod. For the most part if a team wanted a 3B on the trade market the most he'd likely come up with is either old and declining (Lowell/Glaus), or average with limited upside (Blalock/Teahen/Crede) One of the reasons that if I had to list the guy who it would hurt us most to lose right now it'd probably be Youks.
  9. We don't know that Theo didn't try that. But in the end, he's got to be responsible to the shareholders and do what he thinks is the best thing for the team. Also, Michael Young is not a long term solution at SS.
  10. For their DH? I'd like to know what kind of contingency you could arrange for a DH who isn't going on the DL without reducing your ability to back up key defensive positions adequately.
  11. Tex was not the move that would have helped us. Teixeira would be playing first base with Youkilis at third. His produciton would have helped cover Ortiz, but Bay and Youks are doing that already and there was no way that having Teixeira in the lineup would have meant the Papi Saga would have gone any differently between Opening Day and the third of June. We do have a problem. But not getting Teixeira is not that problem.
  12. Ehh, I give Daisuke a bit of a mulligan because he's coming back from a shoulder injury. We've been getting a number of 6+ inning starts from the rest of the staff, we can swallow a 5 and out from a player who's still bouncing back.
  13. "This game is temporarily available" What a time to screw me over.
  14. Do what you do, Paps. Finish them.
  15. Oh, DAMN YOU GameDay Audio, you did NOT just spazz out on me!!!
  16. How about missing some bats, Paps?
  17. We're going to cough up this lead aren't we?
  18. Get out of this, Paps.
