It’s just frustrating that if I buy MLB TV, they want me to pay extra for a streaming service I’ll never use to watch a few MLB games per year. I should get access to these games anyway with my MLB subscription.

Well they had a great hitter but they traded him! I would say Roman Anthony is great hitter but he’s obviously hurt. Bregman when healthy is pretty damn good too. Duran and Abreu are well above average too, not great but some. It’s tough with Anthony and Abreu both hurt.

Basically the logic is “Narvaez and Rafaela are pretty good at what they do in a vacuum, but they suck and I hate them because guys like Yoshida and Lowe suck, so these guys need to hit more!”

No team in the league has 9 good hitters.

What more could you possibly want from Narvaez? Catcher is a brutal position and he’s well above league average.

Rafaela is the only “black hole” that’s actually provides value and helps the team though. We have a designated hitter that doesn’t even hit at all in Yoshida. We have a below average 1B, we have a career minor leaguer in Eaton taking AB’s. you are ranting about Rafaela, who was never projected to be a great hitter, being a below average hitter while providing league best defense and at least providing some power and big hits in the 9 hole. He isn’t even top 10 biggest problem with this roster.

WAR is good at evaluating a player over the season. Rafaela is not a good hitter, but he can still be a good player. He hits 9th, its not like he’s hitting high in the lineup.

I thought the trade was bad at the time and was pretty vocal about it for a few reasons. The Red Sox needed starting pitching and while I’m aware Sale was an injury risk, they were paying his salary to play for another team anyway, at that point just keep him. I also wasn’t a big fan of Grissom, mainly because he seemed pretty bad defensively and didn’t really have a position he was good at. it seemed bad at the time and aged even worse

Wilson has pretty good season stats but he’s pretty infuriating to watch with the way he pitches.

What? He had 4 hits yesterday. there is plenty of other guys not contributing anything at all. Rafaela is the 9 hitter and is here for defense an occasional hit. He’s been more useful than guys like Yoshida, Lowe and etc
