  1. Vaughn Grissom just got traded to Angels per Passan. - no word on return yet but can’t imagine it’s much if anything
  2. Yeah I had a feeling he was destined to stay with Phillies and I couldn’t see Dombrowski getting outbid for him. Diaz is getting 3 years $69 million from Dodgers - that’s a high AAV but Dodgers can afford it and I’m not surprised
  3. Not really sure where to post this but Schwarber is staying in Philly for 5/$150 million. Edwin Diaz also just signed with dodgers.
  4. Notre Dame actually saw their SOS improve, they killed Boise State earlier in season and Boise won their conference championship.
  5. Yep, as soon as I saw that proposal I had to go to the dispensary!
  6. Notre Dame missing the playoffs is an absolute joke. How did Miami pass them when the committee ranked Notre Dame ahead of them in previous weeks and both teams were idle? The conference argument is also stupid because Miami didn’t even win their conference against a 5 loss Duke team. On top of that, Alabama is so protected by the committee it’s insane, they lost 3 games, including an embarrassing effort vs Florida State that got ignored by committee for some reason and they looked like s*** in their conference championship but those results were ignored for whatever reason. College football really sucks right now
  7. Hard pass. I’d rather keep Duran than doing anything like trading him for that type of package.
  8. Not sure how I feel about this one - I get Password is blocked but I don’t think this is the guy I would’ve targeted
  9. College football is a mess right now. Between the coaching ******** like Kiffin is doing and the players transferring every year and basically having an open free agency with no rules every year, it’s gotten very bad. I dont know how they fix this, but something needs to be done.
  10. I don’t think Realmuto is looking to be a backup. He’s still a really good player
  11. If a teams #4 or 5 is Sonny gray, they have an elite rotation. He’s better than that
  12. I wouldn’t call Sonny Gray “dumpster diving” it’s not like he’s some random bum or something. He’s had a very good career. Is he past his prime? Most likely but he could still be a very good pitcher and help this team. I still want them to explore getting another pitcher, but he’s a solid get.
  13. For that package, I’m fine with the trade. He basically is replacing Giolito. I do hope they make a move for another SP still.
  14. I’m not sure how to feel about this. He’s 36, struggled in AL East before with Yankees and wasn’t exactly great last season. he is however durable and eats inning.
  15. 30 year old whose been released or DFA’d by White Sox, A’s, Marlins and Pirates? What a pick up!
  16. I don’t get what Clase was thinking. He’s already a star player making millions and he’s risking his career for thousands? Unless he was in some deep s*** and being blackmailed this makes no sense
  17. Trading Casas makes no sense to me. His value around the league get be high and the odds of getting anything valuable is so low that you might as well just keep him at this point and hope he bounces back. It’s not like it’s hurt the team financially to hold onto him
  18. No chance? Mets have the 2nd highest payroll in MLB and Marlins have won two World Series more recently than teams like the Mets. Arizona was just in the World Series a few years ago and also won more recently than Mets. Royals? Also won a ring in 2010s. Colorado, Baltimore, Pittsburgh and Cincy don’t even really try to be competitive.
  19. I think a bigger issue than the Dodgers, who are willing to spend money and also draft amazing is the teams who don’t even try to compete or spend money. Reds have Hunter Green signed through 2029 for relatively cheap and just made the playoffs. They put him on trade block this off season to try and save money. I went to their stadium and paid $13 for a beer and $6 for a water. They want me to pay those prices but don’t want to pay their ace? And we know Elly De La Cruz is likely going to get moved at some points. Tigers have a generational ace and are somehow $250 million dollars APART in negotiations? and don’t get me started on the teams like Pirates and Marlins who have jokes in control of their teams. Creating a salary cap won’t “save” baseball and the Dodgers didn’t ruin baseball. In leagues with salary caps, the teams with bad ownership are still bad and there is a lot of repeats/same champions in those leagues. A salary cap isn’t helping NFL and NBA get too much parity or helping teams with awful ownership like Cleveland Browns or Washington Wizards compete.
  20. I thought they might give it to Ohtani for obvious reasons but Yamamoto deserved it. Dude was absolutely amazing
  21. That was one of the best games and series I’ve watched in awhile. Incredible entertainment
  22. Yes, because Ohtani was able to carry Mike Trout to many playoff appearances right? The Dodgers have a great roster, but part of the greatness is Mookie Betts and his amazing ability and willingness to play different positions. How many players can even physically make the move to change positions to SS at age 33? Trade still sucks, and Mookie having a down year with 5 WAR and playing in the World Series again isn’t making them look smarter or making anyone happier.
  23. A “bad year” for him is appearing in his 3 World Series with dodgers and putting up an almost 5 WAR.
