  1. I think he’s sucking off Correa and Springer between innings so he’s probably just hoping the cameras don’t catch that.
  2. Hoping for the best for Price, this could be a big moment for his reputation and career.
  3. Wrigley was cool as an atmosphere, and It was a Ball Park I always wanted to attend, but the seats are pretty uncomfortable and the "obstructed views" are absurdly annoying. I think if you are a true baseball fan, the park is a must attend at least once, the atmosphere inside and around the park is awesome, very similar to Fenway. Fenway, as a Sox fan I like it, but the seats do suck, and again, like Wrigley, obstructed view seats are annoying. I somewhat disagree about Camden yards though, I've attended games there more than any other park and I really like the place. Now around the stadium is a s***-hole and Baltimore needs to fix the crime and corruptness of the city, but inside the stadium itself is beautiful, nice seating, pretty good food, they let you bring food and drinks inside the stadium (even alcohol as long as it is sealed and not glass) and the staff have been pretty cool to me. I got free tickets in the upper deck at a game this season from a friend, and when I went to sit in my seat, the usher was like "you know what? there is no one here, why don't you guys just sit down the first base line, you'll enjoy it more, and radioed down and let us have awesome seats. My only bad experience there was the riot game a few years ago, and to be fair that was a REALLY bad experience. So inside the stadium - great, around the stadium - bad. Only other parks I've been to I didn't see on the List (Phillies and Nationals).
  4. Could really use Hector Velazquez or Brian Johnson? Do we really want them pitching in playoff games? I wouldn't think so. What would they possibly add that E-Rod doesn't? I agree with the second point of it making it easier for Cora to use guys as pinch hit for the catchers. Plus, Moreland clearly isn't right and if something were to happen to say, Pearce, having Swihart as insurance is important IMO.
  5. Yeah, it was similar to an NFL challenge where it looks like a player might've been in the end zone, but they ruled him down at the 1 yard line, and on the replays you see a ton of bodies and cant see where ball/players knee is for sure, so call has to stand. A key with this review is they ruled call on the field "stands" and not was "confirmed". This is an absurd play though and I think they really need to change the faultiness of the fan interference rule, so if the ball is hit a few inches further, fans can "battle" Mookie for the ball and its allowed and considered fair game, but if its a few inches shorter, its interference. This seems like an absurdly tough judgement call for not only the umpires, for the fans. I imagine most fans at these games are drinking , so slightly intoxicated people are supposed to decided if they can go for an a potential ALCS home run ball, or let the opposing teams right fielder make a catch attempt and its all decided by the umpires opinions. It's wild.
  6. Alright this needs to stop, its been pretty clear rule over the years that we don't allow political talk. This is a sports forum, and we don't need this s*** on here, you guys are ruining this thread. Knock it off.
  7. Also, the attacking of Joe West being "too old and fat" to make that call is just stupid and horrible journalism. They could've had the youngest most athletic umpire on the field and that is still a damn near impossible call to make in real time. Do you know how many moving parts were happening, as the ball was landing? Joe West has actually done a good job this series. His game 3 behind home plate was probably the best job a home plate umpired has done all playoffs, and this is coming from someone who hates umpires who try to be the star of the game, like Joe West often does at times.
  8. This can be debated for hours and hours and when it comes down to it, its a judgement call. Most rational people would agree, that they "think" this or that happened on the Altuve play, but would agree you cant change the call. Whatever call Joe West made, was going to stand. I've listened to MLB Networks, TBS, ESPN, 105.7 the fan, etc and there is so many different opinions of this play, but the most common one seems to be "I think Mookie makes that play if there is no fans there, but I am not 100% sure the fan actually reach into the field of play". I agree with that assessment.
