I have no idea why people bring up steroids. Every team in mlb ever has some kind of link to steroids at some point in time. Michael Chavis was literally just suspended last year.

Domingo German (9-1 3.43 ERA) vs Big Dick Rick Porcello (4-4 4.41 ERA) German is tough, but has struggled his past two starts giving up 10 run (9 earned) in 10 innings, raising his ERA from 2.50 to 3.43. Sox need to get to him as Yankees bullpen allows almost nothing. Steve Pearce was placed on the DL so the Red Sox are very thin at 1B, Sam Travis up. This is almost a must win early in the season.

Having a Chris Sale level starter is way more valuable than having an elite closer. Also it would be incredibly stupid to not pay Kimbrel, then Pay Chris Sale an ABSURD amount of money to be a closer.
