  1. Orioles have been picking extremely high for a decade. I’m sure their fans are thrilled with what they watched and the end product!
  2. Obviously, but it’s not something im ever looking at when watching the Sox. The draft is mostly a crapshoot anyway. You really want them to lose to draft a HS kid who could MAYBE make an impact in 4 years?
  3. No. I’m a Washington Wizards fan and they are absolutely horrendous every year and routinely draft busts: it’s a horrible product to watch. The Red Sox can still draft good players while putting out a good product. I don’t want to watch them suck ass and be a joke to maybe get a high draft pick for a HS kid. imagine being a pirates fan and watching one of worst rosters ever and getting the #1 overall pick to be rewarded with… Henry Davis.
  4. There is a lot of people refuting that Salas/Cease offer ever even happened and im not even sure that offer is all that good anyway. Cease is a rental having a down year and Salas is having a horrendous year and is dealing with a back injury. I get he’s really young but he hasn’t shown anything with the bat the past two seasons.
  5. In order to get higher picks you have to be generationally bad with how bad some teams tank. Even if you get #1 pick it’s far from a guarantee the player is a star or even a decent contributor. Since 2000 the #1 overall picks have been extremely hit or miss. A lot of the best players in the league were drafted late first or not even first round at all. Baseball players have an extremely high bust rate and tanking for a high pick isn’t guaranteed to have the impact it does in the NBA or NFL, where one NBA player can turn a franchise around or a star QB can set a team up for a decade. Rooting for that sounds absolutely miserable, but have fun I guess.
  6. Or you can literally keep both. There isn’t a need to trade Duran, unless an offer you can’t pass on comes up.
  7. So you root for the team to lose to get a higher pick in the one major sport where half the first round busts or doesn’t see the majors for years and has almost no immediate impact? That’s insanely dumb.
  8. Very earlier in his career, but he seems like he’s the real deal. His plate discipline is great.
  9. A “bad” Crotchet start is still better than majority of the league
  10. And if that’s what it costs it’s a HARD pass. Clase isn’t making this team a World Series contender and no reliever is worth Jarren Duran AND prospects. Let someone else overpay.
  11. I have hard time believing Rays would trade him in division, especially to Boston where he would really enjoy playing at Fenway.
  12. Absolutely horrendous proposal. Duran and prospects for a closer is a joke of a trade.
  13. That is my issue with Chapman. What he is doing at age 37 is phenomenal and almost unheard of, at least velocity wise but Father Time catches up with everyone eventually. Almost no one leaves the game on top and sometimes it’s hard to predict when it will happen. Justin Verlander is currently one of worst pitchers in baseball
  14. Narvaez was plays the catcher position very well. It was a kinda ******** interference call and there wasn’t a whole lot he could do there. He leads all catchers in DWAR, runs saved and caught stealing. He’s very good. Hicks wasn’t getting out of that inning anyway, he isn’t good.
  15. I’m aware. But with his contract he’s going to take up a spot
  16. I really don’t want to lose any of the OF besides Yoshida. All these guys are so fun
