  1. That. Baseball teams are used to playing everyday, with maybe one day off a week. A first round bye would be a really dubious award, it would shatter any and all rhythm they had.
  2. I want the Heat to win the championship and decimate the league in the process. All the ridiculous hate they're getting (especially LeBron, but as a team too), all the hilarious denial of how awesome of a team they are, all the idiotic speeches about selfishness, taking the high road, class, and that fluff garbage, I just want the clueless naysayers to get even more of a wad in their panties, and think up some more excuses. Their fans have every right to think the team is invincible, LeBron won 127 games in two years with a garbage supporting cast, and now he has Wade and Bosh on his team. Even if one of the three went down for the season with an injury, they're still serious title contenders. Hell, even if both Wade and Bosh and went down for extended periods, what's left to support LeBron is pretty much as good as what he had in Cleveland and won 60+ games with.
  3. Maybe a bit of a reach but I'm in a bit of a hurry and didn't want to be skipped. Robin Lopez is 22 years old, a good defender (next to Al that's a requirement), and he'll get plenty of chances to show his stuff this year.
  4. I picked Nelson because he's a shooter and can really fill it up if he's on. He's not a ballhandling guard, and he won't have to be on this team. He's a little expensive, but my picks thus far leave me some breathing room in that regard. This makes Harden a sixth man.
  5. Picked Batum because a) he's just 21 and has plenty of room for improvement, he's a 40% three point shooter, which I need, c) he's a good defender, which I also need. For clarification my three wing players are Tyreke, Harden, and Batum, with Tyreke playing the D-Wade role.
  6. I picked James Harden. Probably a little bit of a reach, but he can hit the outside shot, which is what I need next to Tyreke and Al. Tyreke's also the primary ballhandler for my team (though not technically a point guard), so Harden plays beside him in the backcourt. He's a nice player, but his numbers in OKC might not be too great as long as he's competing with Durant and co. for shots and with Sefalosha for playing time.
  7. This time went with Al Jefferson. Excellent low post scorer and rebounder, him and Tyreke would be a pretty damn good combination. Some injury troubles and not great defensively, but the latter can easily be picked up in 3 years' time, and there's no sense trying to predict the former.
  8. Picked Tyreke Evans. Won a well deserved ROY last year, considered by some to be at least the next Dwyane Wade, at the very least he's a future all star. I feel good with him as my franchise player.

  10. You can always PM your pick (or maybe a list of three depending on how many are still in front of you) to either yrtb or a mod.
  11. It's Kilo's turn right?
  12. Maybe we should PM users when it's their pick (or even when they're on deck)? Oh and this really should be moved out of contests/prizes. I don't care where else, but it's real easy to miss down here since no one's accustomed to checking this subforum.
  13. Do it.
  14. 13's fine I think. Not too jazzed about having to dig up a guy's salary number though.
  15. Yeah, a few games out of a 162+ game schedule is everything. Totally.
  16. What in dear god is this.
  17. Bust. Thought this was previously established.
  18. Rays, because I want to endure as little history/tradition/glory of america's pastime ******** as possible.
  19. Rays in 4. Cliff Lee wins the first and then TB takes 3 straight.
  20. Pretty sure I was saying from the outset how dumb it was to give Beckett a shitton of money with Lackey already on board.
