For such a smart basketball mind, Joe Dumars has done some really f***ing stupid things in the past two years. Starting with the Billups/Iverson trade, unnecessary blowing up that season, then using the resulting cap space on a couple of bench players who do nothing to help you win and whose contracts will weigh on that team like iron weights until they're expired. Then he refuses to trade the rest of that team's 'core' (Prince and Hamilton, Stuckey should go too), keeping the team in some kind of half-ass rebuilding mode purgatory and delaying their return to respectability. He seems convinced that they can compete as built, so he's probably not dealing any of the three anytime soon. These guys will be a 35-40 win team for the next 5 years with no way of drastically improving from outside.
At least he drafted Greg Monroe, but he's going to have to be another Chris Webber, and fast, if Detroit's going anywhere soon.
