Definitely wood in college. Seeing how the ball just jumps off the metal bat and whizzes by pitchers heads is freaking scary sometimes. I wasn't a pitcher during high school, and even then I was glad about that. I think it's going to take a Bryce Florie type situation (or worse) before they decide to possibly integrate wood bats in the college game. When I was in high school obviously we used metal bats, but we also played in several wood bat tournaments and it was actually pretty fun, a nice challenge. It definitely was tougher as you don't get the bloops like you would if you were using metal, but it was a fun experience anyway.

If you like college basketball at all you should probably have it on ESPN tonight. Right now #5 Villanova is @ #4 West Virginia. Wildcats up 45-40 early in the 2nd half. Up next is #1 Kansas @ #14 Texas. Texas has been playing terrible in recent weeks, but I bet they play well and keep it within 4-5 points tonight.

I don't know much about AT&T UVerse, but I take it you can't get Extra Innings on that? Ultimately I think that would be your best option if you could do it.

I believe we went over the Tim Thomas thing months and months ago and why we shouldn't have done that deal. But hey, great contract! Sigh.

I still wouldn't bet against them. San Jose is ridiculous as well. I'll be shocked if the West finals are anything but those two.

Tom Cable is returning to the Raiders for next season. I feel this is relevant (and great) news given that we have Oakland's 1st rounder in the 2011 draft.

Just about any pitcher should be a good fit in that cavern of a ballpark. Joel Pineiro is going to wish he signed with the Mets in due time when he's getting hammered every night by the American League.

No, couldn't get it Read through the yahoo write up and it mentioned a bad penalty call I believe and Columbus got a late goal with about a minute to play. What are you referring to? I'm just disappointed with the results here lately.

They were talking about the possible Bosh to LA thing on ESPN a few days ago and said Bynum would be the guy heading to Toronto if it was to go down. I mean, I don't see it, but you never know I guess.

It couldn't hurt. It's unfortunate Isiah Thomas is no longer running the Knicks. He might've gone for a Nate Robinson/Tony Allen swap and even throw in a 1st round pick for good measure. Yeah, but even then I don't feel all that confident in this team winning a title. Would love to be wrong, but I'll be surprised. Of course we'll see what happens at the trade deadline too. If the Lakers were to somehow get Bosh from Toronto everyone would be playing for 2nd. Not counting on that to happen though.

I'm not going to give up, but this team has really hit a rough stretch. Losing to the Pistons now? Yikes. I hope KG can come back and stay healthy. Cross your fingers.

Anyone noticed how tight the top five in our league is? This is unbelievable. 5 Minute Majors: 84-55-11 --- 179 Hassenpfeffer & Eggs: 81-53-16 --- 178 Vanek!AtTheDisco: 80-53-17 --- 177 Melrose Mullets: 79-53-18 --- 176 Kane's Cabbie: 82-57-11 --- 175 And then we have 3 teams within 3 points fighting for the final playoff spot in 6th. What a competitive league.

Without question. As it has been for years, a few pretty good teams in the West are going to miss the playoffs as a crap team like Chicago/New York squeaks in in the East.
