  1. If we beat the Angels, are we allowed to change our roster again before the ALCS?
  2. Assuming this score holds, I'm dying to see how some people figure out a way to blame this loss 100% on JD Drew. You know someone will figure out a way.
  3. A come from behind win for the first time in forfreakingever
  4. Mike Lowell!!!! Holy s***!!!
  5. He was runner up for 2000 Rookie of the Year, behind Rafael Furcal.
  6. It didn't say. Just said those 2 teams were interested.
  7. According to espn.com, the Padres and Pirates showed interest in him before the deadline. I think he'd be an interesting fit for the Padres, seeing as how they lack power.
  8. Random thing I realized: If we get him, we'll have the World Series MVP's from 01, 03, 04, and 05. We should go after Troy Glaus to complete the 5-peat.
  9. Yea, you're probably right.
  10. I wonder if this trade would have happened (assuming it does) had the Celtics not made the Allen trade? I don't think Garnett would agree to resign in Boston if they didn't have 2 established all-stars. Also remember, the only time in Garnett's career he went anywhere in the playoffs was the year he had Sprewell and Cassell with him. Pierce and Allen are better than those 2. That being said, part of me wonders if this situation will really work out. Are there enough basketballs to go around? Kinda reminds me of the Lakers a few years back, when they brought in Malone and Payton to go with Kobe and Shaq. That team made the Finals, but with a much better coach and probably better supporting cast. I could see the Celtics making the Finals unless LeBron or Wade somehow get significant help, which isn't likely. But I don't see them winning the Finals. I really hope this deal goes through, just for the NBA's sake. Getting people to talk about anything other than Donaghy is a good thing for the league.
  11. Like Crespo said, he can be traded to some teams and not have veto power. But part of the reason he would likely turn down a trade to some teams is he has incentives in his contract for games finished (I think. I know I heard this about someone, and it was either Dotel or Gagne). So he loses money if he gets traded to a team where he wouldn't close.
  12. I'm a Colts fan, so I have an excuse to hate the Patriots. But I think the casual fan hates the Patriots for 2 reasons. One is that the constantly win, yet have no true superstar (with the exception of Brady, and even some idiots still question if hes really that good. Apparently he needs to win 8 Super Bowls.) The other reason is that teams that always win, regardless of the sport, are usually hated outside of their own fan base. Duke, Notre Dame, USC, Yankees, and Lakers fans can probably tell you about that. So I think thats why most of America hates the Patriots. I should however admit that while I hate them because they're my team's rival, I do respect the Patriots a lot. I think its impressive how they win without a whole bunch of "superstars". I also find it strange that everyone complains about players playing individiually and for themselves and how no one ever plays as a team, yet the Patriots are a perfect example of team play (this is also applies to the Spurs), yet those same people don't acknowledge it.
  13. Decent move, especially with Utley injured.
  14. I think so too. I'm pretty sure he was part of the Javy Lopez deal last season.
  15. Good point. The way I first read it, I thought he was listing those 4 as players he wouldn't want involved in the trade at all, which obviously wouldn't work. Now it makes sense, and I agree that I don't want a trade with a combo of those players.
  16. If we get Tex, we're basically forced to give up Lowell or Youk to free up first base.
  17. It seems like Joe West umpires every freaking game I watch. And that's usually not a good thing.
  18. Anyone else see the pattern? First they call up Chris Duncan's brother, now they trade for Yadier Molina's brother. Apparently they're hoping to emulate St. Louis's success from last year.
  19. Now the question is do we move him back to leadoff and put Drew back in the middle of the lineup, or do we leave him where he is?
  20. Why did Cora pinch hit for Papi? (I'm gamecasting since the game is inexplicably blacked out here)
