  1. Okay so I accidently named him twice. Goddamn could have just said that.
  2. Apparently the Mitchell Report is to be released at a press conference tomorrow a 2pm Eastern, via Wikipedia so not sure how accurate that is unless it's been confirmed by MLB or some other realiable source.
  3. Have any punishments been set out for those who are named? I mean of course if they're retired, not much that you can do. But for those still playing, fines? Suspensions? Banned? I think regardless of who took them, some punishment should be made, maybe take away a record if it was set while at the time of using steroids, or a heavy fine, maybe a good long suspension too. I know SOTK (or I'm sure it was him) once said I'm a baseball Puritan, and I am, I hate to see anyone ruin the game, regardless of the player. Therefore these 60-80 if still playing, need to be dealt with accordingly.
  4. Eric Gagne Just kidding. Buchholz Chamberlin Hughes Lester Kennedy Delcarmen Hansen
  5. Honestly I don't think anything will happen. Red Sox and Twins won't be able to come to terms and the deal will be cancelled.

  7. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-bills-everettwalking&prov=ap&type=lgns Sure is some good news. Glad to see he can walk again. Not sure if he'll ever play football again, but atleast he can walk on his own now.
  8. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=jo-bondsplea120707&prov=yhoo&type=lgns Not the very least bit surprised.
  9. It's quite simple, Alex Rodriguez is a douchebag.
  10. Yeah he BETTER elect to go arbitration. Even if we lose a draft pick.
  11. Then ask yourself who had the lower ERA, BB and more K's? That and if you're just gonna comapre W-L record, look at Schilling from last year, 15-7. This year he got hurt and when 9-8, despite he never fails us in the postseason, I'm comparing him to Wakefield since they are both in the same boat age wise and injury prone wise.
  12. I'll drink to that. It's not like if we don't get him we're cluster f***ed for the season. It just would be really nice to have him in the rotation. As far as Wakefield goes, as great a knuckleballer as he is, I give him 2 years max.
  13. Knew I was forgetting someone. So add him in, and it'll look like this for the future: Santana Beckett Matsuzaka Buchholz Lester That's assuming Ellsbury is traded off. The one thing however, is having Lester as a lefty, should he start s***ing the bed, a whole bunch of righties will be pulling the ball over the left field wall at Fenway. Santana may be a lefty too but he's more dominate and has the sick ass changeup. So to reduce that risk, Lester would be the better choice to trade. I'm thinking 1-2 years ahead from now, because I know Wakefiled will be done, Schilling IS done after the 2008 season, so either we trade Ellsbury to better secure the rotation for the near future, but then start looking for another bat, who would most likely be Crisp getting his job back. Trade off Lester, we'd better start looking for another pitcher then too. At this point in time I still say the better route to go, SHOULD we take Santana, would be to give up Ellsbury, though keeping Lester doesn't make me all too hapy either.
  14. Okay so let's assume the Sox and Twins make a deal. Who's the better trade off? Lester or Ellsbury? Personally, despite being a Jacoby fanboy... I'd have to trade him off and save the pitching. Pitching is how you win, and with Wakefield being the new Father Time and Schilling eating (or so he says differently in his new contract), we could use pitching. Thus get rid of Ellsbury, who I'll miss, and save Lester so this way the rotation for future years would be Beckett, Matsuzaka, Santana, Lester, (Open Slot for Future Pitcher). Crisp is good in the field, and I'm sure his hitting can improve if he just keeps consistant.
  15. Considering his stats, I don't think we'd get much for him. Granted he did better than expected this season in the rotation while Lester was out, but let's face the facts, he's no Ace in the cards, or even a consistant pitcher. If anything we'd get some back-up infielder or some .240 hitting schmo. Still, would it be worth the trade?
  16. Tek for two more years wouldn't be a bad idea. We have him as our Captain for a reason. He's a great catcher, smart, and works well with the rotation and bullpen. Now let's make like McCarver and sign on the "Sergeant Major." (McCarver is a dumbass).
  17. No but apparently he stayed in a Holiday Inn last night... (cheap joke attempt). So now say in 2013, Beckett signs with a 1 million Cy Young Bonus, he will then no longer be eligable for that award? See now this is ********. This is what's ruining it all, free agency and stupid rules. Though it's off the subject, incentives is how they should pay ball players. But no, the stupid BBWAA and Writer's Association is going in the complete direction. Dumb shits.
  18. I will so fly into Boston just for this occaision. Let's f***in' do it. We could have TalkSox pajamas with the TalkSox logo!
  19. Quite well aware, I just thought I'd post something... real? I did laugh, I mean of course if it's on Wikipedia it must be true right?
  20. CBS Sports claim things are pretty much at a stand-still. http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/players/playerpage/174948 So far no one's made an extra effort to trade for him.
  21. Pitching is how you win. Hughes beats out Ellsbury in this deal. But like SchillingIsTheNatural said, Buchholz over Hughes.
