  1. o ya I also really don't lie Joe Buck, the broadcaster on ESPN/FOX... he just gets me pissed, whenever they have the Sox/Yanks play he commentates on FOX usually and hes like pro-yankees, and just annoying...
  2. alrite Ill clear it up for ya, i hate him for the play he didn't make, not for his all around career performance...
  3. alright just name all of your top favorite baseball players... you can put why and what not, alright go!... (I'll name mine later..)
  4. Aaron Poon Boone Ass-Rod Buckner ehhh... makes my stomach turn... and idc if he's not the opponent... "George" Posada M. Rivera Sheffield Damon(he's new to this list) Bonds... what a disgrace I can only remember mostly current players...
  5. At first i thought this begin to a season would be pretty cool and unique but now that i think about it, I think the trip would mess up some player mind and body cycles with the off set time zone and long flits over seas. Also I wouldn't want any player getting sick in Japan and losing some of the season, I remember when the Yankees played some spring training games i think out of the US a few years back and Giambi was sick for a long time... So I don't think it would be the best idea to start the season in Japan...
  6. Yep cuz Youk is better...
  7. are you listening to what you're saying?... for one, Palmiero wouldn't be a better hitter, two, he wouldn't be able to field, three he would make the Sox lose fans... four, he would sign a contract bigger than Youk's is and he would be 50... why am I even discussing this, this is just stupid... you should just not post anymore...
  8. I think everybody has a shot, they can always cut guys, even though they wouldnt want to... I doubt most of the pitchers are entering ST thinking to themselves that they'll be in AAA next season...
  9. There seems so be so many arms in the bullpen this up coming season... Who's gonna get the job? What do you think the Bullpen will looks like on Opening Day? Here are the Potential RPs: Breslow Debarr Delcarmen DiNardo Donnelly Gabbard Hansack Hansen Lester Lopez E. Martinez Okajima D. Pauley Pineiro Romero Snyder Tavarez Timlin (I'm guessing to pick 6 arms for the 'pen with 19 fielders/SPs... you can count the closer too if you would like) That's all the RPs on the 40-Man Roster, so I suspect that they will pick from these guys to patrol the bullpen... I forgot my picks... 1.Timlin 2.Lester 3.Donnelly(or maybe Tavarez, idk) 4.Pineiro(closer...maybe?) 5.Hansen 6.Delcarmen
  10. Ya so why don't the Yankees get him so they can have one more ass wipe on there team... I agree with Riverside Sluggers, Youk doesn't need a platoon mate at 1st, he's progressing every year...
  11. doubt it...
  12. What are the Sox planning on doing with Pena? Now I would like to see JD Drew on the Sox BUT, Why sign Drew to a 5 yr deal when you have a powerhouse like Wily Mo... and Drew is injury-prone so why sign a guy if he has a history of getting hurt and then not having a starter... and for the #5 spot, you could have maybe Youk? I know, I know he doesn't have the best contact obviously, and hes not the greatest fielder, but why not start Pena in right(or Center, move Coco to Right) and give him at least the at-bats he needs so he can tune-up his hitting, because you know when he makes contact he will be a great hitter. He has amazing power, why waste it?... Manny's contract will be up in 2 yrs and by then, Wily Mo will be a better hitter and can possibly step into that Cleanup Spot...
  13. I think its great he went to the 'Stros, hes a great player and the 'Stros are one of my favorite national league teams, I hope he does great... Hope for a Sox/'Stros World Series, haha...
  14. I think he will be a good closer, that is if he pitching with what he's got, I know he struggled last year but the kid does have great stuff, and he is only 28, why give up hope on a 28 year old, and the Red Sox staff can definatley turn his struggling ways around... I have faith!
  15. Papelbon is a starter... not a closer anymore, its that simple... I said Hansen but I no theres no way hes gonna get the job, Id say Pineiro to be realistic, or Timlin if Pineiro bombs... I heard Taveras' name come up as a potential closer also...
  16. Pineiro would be a great for the Sox, I know he sucked last year but I remember a few years ago when he was really good... he does have great stuff and good for the Sox on going out and getting extra pitching... we dont want what happened last year to happen again...
  17. Hey I know a lot of people have been saying Murphy isnt really going anywhere but I heard hes gained 10-15 pounds of muscle, does this change anyones perspective on him? Here's what they said... (it was on Dirtdogs.com) "David Murphy said he has added 10-15 pounds of muscle while working with trainer Dennis Fay at the Texas Sports Medical Center this winter. Murphy, who hit 12 homers 512 at-bats last season, would be a lot more interesting if he could add some additional power. As is, he's a fourth outfielder, and he's not going to make the Red Sox out of spring training unless someone ahead of him is traded. The Marlins have had some interest in him in the past, so it's possible that he'll be the one who is dealt." heres the site too... http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playernews.aspx?sport=MLB
  18. I could definatley see Tek and Schill coaching or managing... o ya and I could see Manny doing....................................that's it...
  19. Great signing, like others have already said it can only help us... last year I did see him pitch some great games, i remember a CG SHO last year that he throw, so he will definitely help in depth...
  20. How isnt closing worse for his arm? that's the reason hes going to be a starter this year because of what happened last year..... remember, he got injured in September... cuz his arm was to fatigued... and about Hansen, I know theres doubt but all they've been saying is hes the closer of the future so I wanna see if he is... I think he's worth a shot...
  21. No... sure at the beginning of the off-season i thought Papelbon could close next year, but when i heard he may have arm injuries in the future from closing, I thought from that point I dont want our 26 yr old Starting pitcher who is SO dominate(I no he was dominate closing games but whos to say he not going to bring that to starting one) retire early or just not be commanding for the rest of his career... but really why risk that when all you have to do is get a one or two year closer to hold off Hansen until hes ready...:dunno:
  22. this is what I've been say the whole time... everyone thinks he sucks cuz he was playing with a broken finger... like u said, give him time to flourish... I mean we did gave up a 3B prospect for him so I think hes worth a shot
  23. it would make sense to trade him especially to a team, like the marlins, who have a lot of prospects... hey maybe we should try and get Sanchez back haha..... but really, I don't see Murphy playing in Boston especially with Wily Mo and Ellsbury on their way to the everyday roster...
