  1. WTF is wrong with Pedroia, he's been awful the last month.
  2. And when we face him... I'm just going to go ahead and chock it up as a loss.
  3. He's amazing, he's got ridiculous "stuff" and can throw anything exactly where he wants it. Sure, he wouldn't be quite as successful in the AL, but he'd still dominate. He is the best pitcher the majors right now by a REALLY long shot.
  4. Absolutely ridiculous. Someone tell Dice-K to watch Jiminez... 'cause that what we expected out of his "national treasure" ass. I wonder how much longer he can keep this up.
  5. Are you talking about Dice-K? 1st start: 6 ER, 4.2 IP, 3BB, 7 hits 2nd start: 5 ER, 5.1 IP, 3BB, 5 hits 3rd start: 1 ER, 7 IP, 0BB, 3 hits 4th start: 7 ER, 4.2 IP, 3BB, 9 hits 5th start: 0 ER, 8 IP, 4BB, 1 hit 6th start: 3 ER, 4.2 IP, 8BB, 2 hits 3 awful starts, 2 dominate starts, 1 sub-par start. The guy is a career 1.4 WHIP, 1.93 K/BB, 4.3 BB/9. Lets be real here, his first year was average, his second was great for wins/era, but he wasn't exactly dominant with a 1.32 WHIP, 5 BB/9. His last season+ has been awful. I see a pitcher with 1 "good" year out of 3+ season who gives up WAY to many walks to be successful and pitch deep into games. He's looking more and more like Hideo Nomo, except worse. Nomo actually dominated his first 2 seasons and his WHIP was 1.0 and 1.1 and over 230 strikeouts. However, his whip got worse every season and he quickly became average to poor. Dice-K already has the high WHIP, I see his fall being worse than Nomo.
  6. Anyone still doubting the big man? I'm sure not. Not only did he have another HR, but he walked twice. He's always been a slow starter (March/April are his worst months across the board) and after that wrist injury, I think it's safe to say it was nothing but a slow start. Last year he had trouble getting his bat speed back up, common with wrist injuries. This year it looked like a really slow start, but now he really does look like vintage Ortiz. I don't think there is anything to be worried about. As some others have pointed out, I'm sure he'll start seeing a lot more walks now as pitchers start to work around him knowing he can take them deep. With this 7 inning, 1 run performance, now 2 of our starters are sub-3.00 ERA. If Beckett and Lackey can start pitching like their capable of this pitching staff will be scary good.
  7. ORTIZ!!!! Now THAT is a successful, crooked number inning.
  8. Well, a run. We need crooked numbers though, enough of these groudout RBIs, we need a big inning.
  9. This might be the weakest lineup we've sent out in YEARS.
  10. Holy crap, a GT that hasn't eclipsed the first page! Great outing from Buchholz, glad he showed up as the offense was completely dead. It's looking like Beckett may end up being our 3rd or even 4th best starter this year (if Lackey can get in a groove).
  11. Is that even possible? I absolutely DESPISE the Dolts. Now, I have a ton of respect for Peyton... but I still have to hate him and enjoy his legacy of choking.
  12. Now would be the perfect time for Robinson to a big game.
  13. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT RONDO!
  14. Suspended? He needs to get fired. He is a TERRIBLE umpire with a huge ego. His job is to make correct calls, not to entertain or piss people off. I think an UMP should get an automatic fine just for arguing with players/managers. There's no place for it, if a manager/player deserves to be rejected, do it, don't argue. They simply need MUCH higher standards, right now it's like a "club for life". It's ridiculous.
  15. What gives you a better chance to win, using your best reliever in a bases loaded no out situation or trotting out a scrub? I know it seems sooo strange, but it's a move I'd seriously consider. Letting Wake try to finish or sending in your mop up guy may very well end up putting you in a big hole. It's a key spot in the game and I don't want a struggling starter or scrub in there with no outs.
  16. You know, I'm thinking that taking out Wake when he loaded the bases would have been a good idea and I would have done something unheard of - bring in my best reliever. I'd go with Bard or Papelbon to try to get out of the bases loaded, no out jam and then go to Nelson, etc for several innings. I think using your best pitcher in likely the most critical spot is a good idea.
  17. If the celtics have a poor game I just might break something tonight.
  18. WTF. Now were looking at dropping 2 straight to KC.
  19. What is wrong with the fans. When you get a foul pop fly just a few rows into the stands, MOVE OUT OF THE WAY and let the Sox try to make the play. UGH, WP, 5-5 game.
  20. Wow, this has become a s*** fest...
  21. You know, I just realized how well Magglio Ordonez is playing so far this season. I remember a lot of people thinking he would be an awful choice to replace Bay, but his line this season is .327, .418, .509, .927, 9 HR, 32 RBI. Doesn't look like the brokedown player a lot of people suggested. VMART!
