  1. I'm assuming volcanoes. Personally, I'd love see active volcanoes in person.
  2. The NL won? What? I thought that wasn't allowed?
  3. That could break the streak...
  4. Not true, he has hit for a bit more power in the 2nd half over his career. 2003: 21 HR in 2nd half 2004: 18 HR 2005: 26 HR 2006: 23 HR 2007: 21 HR 2008: 10 HR* injury shortened year 2009: 16 HR As I said before, 30 HR is a huge reach. I think 20-25 is reasonable if he can avoid another big slump.
  5. I think 30's a bit of a reach. 20-25 is more reasonable.
  6. What a comeback story for Ortiz! TAKE THAT DOUBTERS!!!!
  7. How about we just kill the trainer and get a new one?
  8. Comical is not the word I'd be using (unless it was the Yankees, of course).
  9. Youk's now leaving the game, something up with his leg, ankle, or foot. Unbelievable, were going to be fielding our AAA team soon.
  10. 2 hours, 7 minutes. WOW! A QUICK win. Just HALF a game back from first now. If we can keep pace with NY and TB with all these injuries I'll be beyond amazed.
  11. WTF, is already the 6th! CRAP, it's going fast! I'm transcribing an Oscar Peterson version of "Hymn to Freedom" for guitar and didn't realize how fast it's moving by.
  12. JD DREW!!!!!! ZOMG!!!!! YEAH BABY!!!!!! 2 ABs, 2 HRs. AWSOME!
  13. THAT is why I get SOOO frustrated with how much time Drew misses with nagging injuries. This team needs a LOT of that and a lot of playing time from him right now.
  14. Cameron was scratched tonight. Is it really too much to ask to have just 2 of our 3 starting OF play in the same game? On another note, I just brewed my first pot of coffee with my Chemex. I brewed a Konga Co-op coffee from Yirgacheffe Ethiopia, roasted yesterday by Terroir coffee. It's a great company (Terroir) owned by George Howell, a coffee connoisseur who used to own a chain of gourmet coffee shops in the Boston area called 'The Coffee Connection' (He got bought out by Starbucks in '96, *******s!). It's a really great coffee and the Chemex really does brew a perfect cup without ANY bitterness at all.
  15. I like all the MW2 comments "If he had scavenger he would have picked that ball up", "They used counter-UAV".
  16. This is beyond ridiculous. As of right now: Beckett - DL Delcarmen - DL Vtek - DL Vmart - DL Pedroia - DL Buchholz - To miss a start Ellbury - DL Hermida - DL Lowell - DL and Cameron was out for the first month and half. It just keeps piling up.
  17. The issue is the notion that Drew doesn't like to play through pain or "hurt" rather than being actually injured. Now, I certainly can't comment on the validity of these accusations, but he has a history of missing games for "pain", not injuries. Now, he's a great player regardless, but when a team is really undermanned and everyone is hurt, you have to man up and play through pain (albeit it's soreness and not a serious injury). I think we just want to see guys rise up and have a "Nothing will stop me" attitude. Drew could just be someone who just gets seriously hurt all the time, but he could really just be a little "soft". Only the team actually knows. However, as a fan, I'm mad when he is scratched for what seems like something minor.
  18. I agree, prospects are just that: prospects. Some pan out, some don't. I don't see how anyone short of the absolute can't-miss top prospects are "untouchable".
  19. Glad to see a bunch of guys getting played millions to play a game are playing with dirt rather than paying attention. Wish I had that kind of leisurely free time while on the clock.
  20. Oh WTF. This team is banged up, Drew needs to get the sand out of his you-know-what and earn his paychecks. Stiff neck? Man up, weak s***. (/some-what sarcastic, some-what honest)
  21. Ugh, tough spot. Either they over pay to keep him or let him walk, neither great scenarios.
  22. I agree that starters often get underused, but the guy only averages just over 100 pitches a game (throughout his career). He had thrown 108 pitches in the game, so it's not like he'd usually go longer. Also don't forget that it wasn't INTENDED to use 5 relievers. I'm sure they planned on just using Oki and Atchison, but Oki and Atchison sucked, they brought in Richardson and he made it a 3 run game so they brought in the closer. Blame Oki and Atichson for making Tito use 3 other relievers.
