  1. Got my Chemex coffee maker in the mail today... BROKEN. I'm on the phone with Amazon and it seems like I'll be able to get fully refunded, but now I have to wait another 10 days to get the damned thing.
  2. There's 1. Just 1 more to tie. Come on guys, just 1 run.
  3. Beltre leads off with a double. Don't tease, score some RUNS>
  4. Career Road OPS: .831 Yeah, he's hot as hell right now (.899 OPS), but he's always been able to hit. It's the defense that has really surprised me.
  5. It's now 4-0 Mets in the 9th and they still have the bags loaded (edit: as I say that Wright grounds into a inning ending DP) . If they can hang on, the Sox will be just 1 game back. What a turn of event.s
  6. Strasburg was excellent in his 3rd start, setting the MLB record for most strikeouts through the first 3 games of a career (32). He pitched 7 Innings (just 85 pitches), giving up 1 run on 4 hits, no walks, and 10 strikeouts.
  7. Yankees and TB lost, we are only 2 back now!
  8. Well, you SHOULD take it a step further. Lackey played for the Angels, the best offense in the ALW by far. You really should take out the Angels and only use the 3 other teams in the ALW compared to the other 4 teams in the ALE (and I'm going on pre-2010 stats, as when he played in that division). So, I'm sure when you take out the Angels, the number will rise well above 11%. (ALE minus the Sox is 311 runs per team, ALW minus the LAA is 277 runs per team. Considering the fact that the Angels offensive is significantly weaker this year, that's a HUGE difference.)
  9. OMG, A clean inning! Who woulda thought he had it in him!
  10. That's not entirely true. He had to face the Rangers in his division and he absolutely got destroyed by them. The thing I don't like is that he hasn't fared well versus the Yankees (duh) or Rays (especially in TB).
  11. His career line in LA is 3.72,1.3 WHIP, 2.65 K/BB. The thing that worries me is his line at Fenway: 5.46, 1.57 WHIP, 2.17 K/BB
  12. Yes, you are correct, I'm just worried about the very real possibility that this IS Lackey. He's always had a pretty high WHIP for someone who pitches fairly well. I'm worried that he really does have trouble pitching at Fenway (as he got slaughtered as an Angel) and won't fair much better against AL East teams. He may dominate and return to norms, but so far he hasn't shown us anything to think that (other than the fact that he's a streaky pitcher). It's a guessing game and I don't like to be kept guessing.
  13. Lackey sucks. "Intensity" doesn't mean s*** if you can't pitch.
  14. Don't forget the worthless Asian that's made of glass.
  15. The NBA playoffs this year has shown everyone just how pathetic sports media have become. From all the crap around Labron (the biggest game/series of his career, 1 bad games ruins his legacy, blah blah blah) to Kobe (same damn thing) and they also never understand the ebb and flow of series. After game 1, the Celtics didn't have a chance, blah blah. Game 2, the Lakers imploded and were in trouble. Game 3, What happened to Ray ray? Celtics are screwed again. Games 4/5, Celtics are unstoppable, Ray Ray is terrible, Kobe's legacy is on the line, blah blah blah. Game 6, back to the talking up the lakers, ignoring the reason behind Ray's trouble in the prior games, etc etc. ESPN and the Boston media are complete and utter trash.
  16. If the all-star voting doesn't drastically change, it might be the most laughable all-star game in history. I thought it was bad when a seriously injured Nomar was the leading vote-getter for an all-star game he clearly couldn't play in, but it's getting to ridiculous levels now. Just examining the list, the top 3 NL OF are 1. Braun, 2. Heyward, 3. Ethier. Braun as the #1 is a big stretch, Heyward shouldn't even be on the list, and Ethier should be the clear #1. Whats even more disturbing is the fact that neither Corey Hart, nor Colby Rasmus are on the ballot, despite the fact that they are in the top 3 in OPS. The fact that Holliday and Ludwick are on the ballot and Rasmus isn't is incredibly insulting. For SS you have Rollins ahead of Tulowitski, despite the fact that he's only played 12 games this season. 3B is arguably even more of a joke than OF. Zimmerman has the highest OPS among 3B and is having a great season yet is left off the ballot. Polanco is the leading vote getter when he doesn't even deserve to be on the ballot. Chipper Jones doesn't belong on the ballot either. 2B Chase Utley has the lead and is having a good season, but with 4 guys playing better, he really doesn't belong in the lead. Kelly Johnson has had arguably the best season at 2B so far this season and yet again, isn't on the ballot. 1B is actually pretty solid, but I think Dunn should be on the ballot. The AL ballot is a lot more reasonable, except for a few Yankee/Sox players who don't belong (Tex on the ballot, really?). I know everyone realizes that the All-star game is just a popularity contest but I hate the fact that it's lost it's meaning.
  17. Well, so far the first quarter of game 5 sucked. C's down 10 and just look flat. For something completely different, I really want a Mexican Coca Cola right now.
  18. What park are they discussing right now with the fish tank behind homeplate idea? Edit: It's the Marlins, I took a look at the artistic rendering and it looks like a terrible idea.
  19. Am I the only one who doesn't like tie games in sports?
  20. I find it stunning that the Phillies have only had 10 pinch hitters on the season. Perhaps that is part of the reason why they have fallen to 20th in the league in runs scored.

  22. Ahh, is your fantasy team fitting in with your real team?
  23. 14 hits in 3 innings so far, lets break some records!
  24. Yeah, the idea of getting punished for being "too emotional" in a Finals game just seems plain wrong.
