  1. Yeah, you're right, I miss read that. 3 years with the Dodgers, 3.63 ERA, 1.2 Whip, 3.05 K/BB. Not bad, but not impressive either. But again, I never said impressive, I said successful, which was an overstatement.
  2. Come on, you should know better than taking me so seriously. Anyways, I should have clarified. We didn't get dice-k to have an average career, we expect him to be an Ace. As for Otsuka, he was average at best (yes, you are right, successful). Saito is pretty much the only Japanese pitcher to have sustained dominance (albeit 4 years so far). Kuroda isn't even in the majors yet, so I don't know why you are bringing him up. Anyways, DiceK was billed as having great command when we picked him up. And of course I went overboard with saying they stole $50 million, but it's a STUPID requirement nonetheless and IS still a waste of money right now.
  3. Name 1 Japanese pitcher who had a successful CAREER. He was supposed to be an Ace, we paid him to be an Ace, and he's pitched like ass. I think the racists comments are just for fun and because we hate the Japanese posting system. They practically stole $50 million from the Red Sox. Anyways, can you honestly say you wouldn't ever call Randy Johnson a redneck hick? As for racism in generally, I really feel like we live in a time that is tolerant and accepting (or should, at least). It's hard saying racist comments in jest on a forum, I'll admit. I'm just from a very cultured background so I feel comfortable about talking/joking about race stereotypes. My sister's ex was a very racist Floridian and when I first heard him say a racist remark I was shocked. Not because of WHAT he said, but HOW he said it and how he intended it.
  4. Yeah, I understand. I took Latin in school because I wasn't comfortable speaking and communicating in a different language. Then again, the fact that I never bothered to actually LEARN anything other than Latin might be a large part of the reason...
  5. I think that's part of my problem. All the "short hand", "lazy", "Gangster", "Urban" language has really started to piss me off. I'm no longer shy to point out to a stranger that they have said "like" 500 times in the last 2 minutes.
  6. Jeez, where did you learn grammar? "He must have thrown 50 pitches".
  7. Against the NL, aka MLB little leaguers.
  8. I would normal type "bag" but for some reason "bad" is what is on my mind. No idea at all why "bad" would be on my mind when discussing Dice-K... nope, no idea.
  9. Trade him for a bad of peanuts (no joke, an actual bag of peanuts will do) and put Wake back in the rotation.
  10. Lol, 3 runs on 1 hit. Go die in a dark hole you overpriced, overhyped, "Made in Japan" POS.
  11. How is he soo damned lucky? They should change the "Luck of the Irish" to "Luck of the DiceK". It's ludicrous.
  12. He's Asian, he probably can't even see the strike zone.
  13. Go back to Japan, DiceK. You can't play with the big boys. Seriously, THIS is the best Japan has to offer? I'm not impressed.
  14. If anyone wants a good laugh, go check out gameday. If this was a test, West would be failing right now. I can't blame Crawford for his going off a couple games ago. If it was me, I'd do the same "Which is it, mother f*cker, a ball or a strike? It's like your just guessing blindly back there."
  15. Oh, so that IS a strike, West. You didn't seem to think it was a strike just 1 inning ago... I'm not sure who's missing the mark more, Dice-K or West. Lol, and you just called the 2 pitches in the EXACT same level of the K-zone balls... WTF, get it straight man.
  16. I guess this team is back to letting guys run all over them.
  17. Am I the only one who finds it incredibly annoying how the Fenway fans think every single fly ball is going to leave the park? It's annoying on TV, but even more annoying when you're at the park. I keep having to tell the fans "quiet down and sit down, that's a clear FO" every single time a hitter makes contact.
  18. Now the 2B ump is showing off his amazing athletic skillz... Pathetic. Almost as bad as the NFL Ref who tackled a player mid game.
  19. Not just squeezed, but West is terribly inconsistent. He'll call a pitch clearly in the lower half of the K-zone a ball and then call a pitch 6 feet away from the hitter a strike. It's ridiculous.
