  1. All kidding aside, this is a pretty good statement.
  2. For some reason, it makes me feel weird. Yea, a lot of people did steroids. But when you mention steroids, you think of Bonds or maybe Canseco first. He creates an inherently negative atmosphere that I wouldn't want associated with the team I root for. Whatever production he might bring, and who knows if he'd even bring any, wouldn't in my mind balance the negativity and the circus that his signing would bring to Boston.
  3. As long as he'll go for that low-risk, high reward deal at the right price again, not a bad move for Boston to pick him up again.
  4. I'm awaiting this crowd reaction.
  5. I doubt he thought the Mets would be in 4th place and that the Marlins would be at the top. But that's baseball.
  6. Hahah too good.
  7. Always nice to get on the board early.
  8. -Bucholz No No -the Riverdance -Grabbing the AL East out of the Yankees hands.
  9. Let's develop Lester and Buchholz, they could really be something when they truly get going. Coco must go. Trade him and possibly some others for some relief help, a real utility man who is very very versatile, or a power bench bat.
  10. I'll admit it, I was a loser and made it right on time.
  11. Hope it was good, didn't have time to watch. This team deserved a good parade.
  12. Good move for the Braves, the prospects they got are supposedly quite good. And we know all about Edgar Renteria
  13. I say that A-Rod could totally change the culture. Theo Epstein had a quote earlier, when he said, "if you are comparing us to the Yankees in terms of success that's honorable. But if you are comparing us based on how we run things, then you'd be off base." That's how I look at it. We don't want to run things like things have to be run with a star as big as A-Rod. We want a team like we have had the last few years that have won, and if you want to compare it to the Yankees WS dynasties pre-Arod you'll see: There is no one player who takes up 25 percent of the payroll and 125 percent of the spotlight.
  14. Yea I think we all feel like Ellsbury will be starting, all I am saying is that if Coco gets traded we get something in return and it is an absolute definite that Ellsbury will be starting. Which will make me very happy.
  15. I agree, a real inspiration. Way to go Jon!
  16. Yeah, this current Red Sox team has chemistry like no other. A-Rod deflates all of that as soon as he walks in the door. I'm also hoping for a Coco trade to bring some help in at some level, and then Ellsbury starting will be a definite.
  17. Yea he made some pretty bad comments a few years ago, I don't remember exactly what they were though
