  1. Maybe, but as this was his first child and first time through that particular experience I believe it's an honest distraction. I'm not a father yet, but I can imagine the when the first born is on the way and having to deal with all that goes along with it, it could be distracting to anyone.
  2. Tim Browning I think. He was a pitching for the Reds when it happened. Didn't Viola do it as well? Browning I'm fairly sure. Viola I might be misremebering lol
  3. I keep seeing the Red Sox mentioned in articles about That 19 year old Cuban OF, Jorge Soler. What's everyone's thought about possible getting him?
  4. C- to a C for the impact grade on the roster for the off season. Nothing major good or bad. B+ for performance within the perimeters he had. Overall I gave it a C+.
  5. Looks like his defense team took an alternate approach to the appeal then others have. No test result has ever been over turned. They probably decided that avenue was not worth the time and focus. Instead they went after the procedure and beat it. I can understand why MLB is livid. This put the whole testing process in question after they thought they had a pretty good system in place. On the whole, I agree with Jacko, I really don't care anymore. I'm less concerned about sacred numbers being broken then I am with the product that's on the field. I'd rather guys use something and stay strong all season then them not and have a weak product on the field late in the season. The whole PED debate is retarded. Players today have way more advantages compared to previous generations even with out shooting something or taking a pill. This whole thing gets legs in the media because is gossip and dirt and whatever. The crap that a lot of people feed off of.
  6. I wasn't a jumper. I just wasn't around much because of my new job and my work with my teams and the Dutch National team had me tied up. But when I did get a chance to drop in the threads were just dripping with the sky is falling crap, fire francona, worst Red Sox team ever. So I chose not to spend what litte free time I had trying to get everyone to come back to reality here
  7. Carl Crawford and swinging being in the same sentence can never be encouraging :joke: But seems how the team is stuck with him, the healthier he is the better they will be. He still has a chance for me to like him Same can't be said for meatball Lackey. I'm counting down the days until he is gone lol Best off season move for this club is when he went under the knife
  8. He's probably better off pitching half a season, but it wouldn't be good if he's trying to build his value for a multi year deal. He may have to give up on that dream though.
  9. It means he's going to accept one of the s***** offers he got at some point this off season. One that he probably originally thought he would be able to top.
  10. Hahaha are you serious? A good amount of people here were bailing on the team by the 2 week of the season. It was awful around here. It was one of the few reasons I didn't stop by as much because people were being just ridiculous.
  11. I believe he vetoed the trade because he was under the assumption his option was going to get picked up in Detroit. I remember reading an article saying that if he knew detroit wasn't going to bring him back he would have accepted the trade. As it stands he's LH, they have plenty of that. But I guess if Crawford is going to miss significant time it wouldn't be so bad.
  12. Please tell me it was bud light
  13. Not sure I follow. I read his interview. Looked to me like he owned up, admitted he made bad choices and was distracted. Even admitted to gaining some weight. Maybe when he talks he comes off as arrogant to some. Just the way he is. He was cocky when he was in the Marlins system where I watched him play alot and met him on few occasions. But I just found that to be the norm for baseball players in general. He was always nice to me and my friends. Of course that was a while ago, not telling how he is now. Same goes for Prince Fielder. I met Prince this winter when he was here in the Netherlands, cocky when bsing with the young players, but really a nice guy. i could see how some people might think he was arrogant, but it wasn't really the case.
  14. Except for me, I was grandfathered in
  15. He will probably be productive. I just think his "prime" window will be shorter then others because of his body type. If the Sox keep him he will probably be the DH and Middlebrooks will be the 3B.
  16. Wooot Dutch man getting a contract, my players will be excited to hear this
  17. I count players who were drafted and developed by the Red Sox. Rizzo is in the top 50. I also gave the Yankees credit for Montero. Sorry for the confusion
  18. Some of the blurps about each player are actually funny
  19. 4 in the top 100. Not bad.
