I'd be more inclined to overpay for Johnson the Halladay. Johnson is coming into his prime. He might be further along then when the team acquired Beckett. Johnson you have I think for at least 3+ seasons with no extension. That's someone that is worth putting Buchholz in a deal for. I know Johnson and Hanley are the faces there for the Marlins. But Buchholz, Bowden, Anderson, OF prospect + other prospects from a trade of Bay(you would think he would get something decent) and whomever else, is a hell of a package to fill out your ball club for some time to come. And all would be ready to debut for the opening of the stadium possibly. Add that to Florida's already strong young core and they could be legit for a long time. This is all speculation though. Just kicking around names outside of Doc and V-Mart.

"Pipeline spoiler alert" Trade Bay for a couple prospects. Package them up with Buchholz, Bowden, Hadagone, Anderson, Kalish to Florida for Johnson and Hanley. Problems solved;)

Josh Johnson would be great. He's got Beckett-esh ability. I wouldn't mind seeing Buchholz in that type of deal. But I don't see Florida moving him this year. Maybe next year. They might want to hold on to him for their new stadium.

I can't imagine AZ would want to move Haren. And haven't read anything to the contrary. Any links to Haren being possibly available? He will cost a ton IMO. AZ gave up a ton to get him. And he's only gotten better.

Pena was an elite Catcher behind the plate. He couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat though.

He set down the Tigers 1-2-3 in his 1 inning of relief duty. It shows he has some kind of ability to get hitters out. But his sample size will have to become a lot larger to know for sure.

Sounds like he has some potential. Will be interesting to see how he develops.

Might as well. The dude can absolutely not hit. His father was useless with the bat, he is insanely even worse. It will be interesting to see if he can develop into anything useful on the mound.

Are you high? You'll suck the ball sacks of pitchers like Hunter Jones, Kris Johnson and Hunter Strickland, but your "not that high" on Buchholz?
