  1. Odd move. It's going to really limit there payroll flexibility. Rolen isn't exactly cheap. I don't think they can contend this season. Maybe next season if they can find a decent SS. Some power from somewhere could help them a lot as well.
  2. At the time of the Laroche deal I'm sure they didn't think they would be acquiring V-Mart. It wasn't until Garko was traded that the Guardians became "sellers". As soon as Lee went and the AG/Halladay talks stalled, I'm sure the Sox went back and worked on the deal for V-Mart. I think at the time the deal was so good for Laroche they had to take it. It was good insurance if the AG talks fell through.
  3. What a moron. I know trading your franchise guy to your rivals is dicey. But you have to make your ball club better. There is no way in hell he gets a better off then that. As soon as the TDL ended Halladay lost 25-30% of his value IMO.
  4. OMG that is so weak. My posts may be s***. But at least there my own:lol:
  5. They really don't have to get rid of Kott. I think Martinez will see a majority of his time at 1B/DH. He will probably catch 1 or 2 games a week maybe.
  6. I have a feeling Smoltz is heading to the Pen when Wake returns. Either him or Buchholz. There isn't going to be any good pitching that passes through waivers. Too many contenders could use them. If worst came to worst, they could always sign a guy like Paul Byrd. I think Bowden and Tazawa get some spot starts down the stretch as well.
  7. Couldn't agree more.
  8. I stated if it was both then Buchholz in the deal would be ok. Outside of that there are only a handful of guys I trade him for. The fact the Sox wouldn't move him for Halladay might increase his value LOL
  9. ’ A+ for Effort though. He was said to have made a half dozen offers to Seattle for Felix. Wonder how close they got? Maybe this is the deal that has the groundwork laid....drool....
  10. You guys are acting as if it is impossible to get a 4th/5th OF if need be.
  11. Well I don't see CK getting flipped, unless it's before September 1. He should be a good backup, while not blowing up the locker room over playing time.
  12. B+ Like the V-Mart deal. CK for Laroche I agree is a lateral move. If you count the Lugo trade it's and A.
  13. I like the V-Mart trade. I found out about climbing into bed after drinking all night with my roommate. I like the fact Clay, Bowden, Taz and Kelley didn't get moved. The Laroche deal is Meh... I suppose he won't have a problem sitting on the bench. Laroche deserves to start somewhere. And can help ATL. Overall not a bad TDL. And there is still the NWTDL which I expect to be busy with teams not blocking other teams from players, for fear of getting stuck with the players $.
  14. Interesting. Thought he might be a Yankee. Wonder what NY does now.
  15. Where did you get that juicy tidbit on Vick Crunchy? The pats seem like a decent fit for Vick. Established QB. Veteran team. Smart FO. And a loyal fan base that will more then likely support the moves the club makes. Vick is working with Dungy for his off field issues. That has got to help him out. Then he could have BB helping his on the field performance. I would be for giving Vick a chance in NE. He would be interesting in a wild cat set if anything.
  16. JP is gonna over play his hand like the Twins did with Johan. And the package that he gets will reflect that.
  17. Have to agree. Frodo Baggins takes the cake on this one.
  18. Not the lamest statement ever. Will be interesting after he gets all the info what he says.
  19. Tek is having a game!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Looks like Papelbon in the 9th....I wsh they let Bard stay in. He just mowed those guys down.
  21. There are a few. But I would guess Bard is the most effortless.
