  1. I was just going to ask how his glove was. Still he is probably better then what they have currently. Is there anyone better on waivers? Guzman looks of. But I'm not sure I like him as the SS for this season and next. I'd rather go with Green and someone for the rest of this year. And go get a SS via trade or something. Maybe they can get Hardy(ya kilo I know, I'm starting pretty early for my "bring Hardy to Boston" campaign;)) on the cheap side with his down year. At least he can field a good SS, with the chance of Fenway sparking his bat.
  2. Way better then the current guys. Bit expensive. If Nats want prospects, they better be eating some cash.
  3. Well I take that back he had a good July. May through June was putrid though.
  4. I'm not worried yet. This series had bad news written all over it. The Yanks have been playing good ball. And the Sox pitching had been suspect outside of Lester and Beckett. Add in they were in NY. If the Sox could have split it would have been a win in my book. I'll be happy if the get a win today. But if they lose it won't be the end of the world. Although Magadan might be looking for work soon:D Yesterday was a solid start from Buchholz. He fought out of a couple jams and gave up only 2 runs in Coors east. If you had asked any fan before the game if they would take 6IP, 2ER from Buchholz? They would have taken it, kicked you in the nuts and ran away laughing with it. Although he got the loss, I'm sure that did a lot for his confidence. Hopefully he carries that with him for the rest of the season. The offense is okay. Bay being out really doesn't hurt too much since he hasn't hit since May. Ortiz is slumping again, I don't think they can let him work out of it this time though. It took just too long last time. Lowell should be getting some AB's at DH IMO.
  5. You know I've been thinking on this. 2004- WS Champs 2005- In the PO, outed by the eventual Champs 2006- Injury filled season, the depth much of us believed was just not there, no PO's 2007- Sox reload and win another WS, 2008- Made the ALCS, But were beaten by a better team at the time of the series. 2009- Injury filled, depth isn't there like some of us had hoped for. Playoffs are still within reach(I'm not jumping ship), but things will need to straighten out to some point to get there. Similar 3 season spans overall IMO. The difference being 07,08,09's teams are all = to or better then the previous 3 seasons. But if Wake and Dice-K can salvage the rest of their seasons and get right for the PO(if they are in of course), the team should be able to contend. If they make it and it's just Lester and Beckett. It will be a tough.
  6. Buchholz is actually supposed to be really fast. I read a report saying he was keeping up with Jacoby in a sprint. they can always bring up Anderson if they need some speed I would guess.
  7. Because Wake and Dice-K are on the DL.
  8. The Yankees are one injury away from being a train wreck.
  9. I think it's more to do with the pitchers, then it is with V-Mart.
  10. Smoltz is a great competitor and has has an illustrious career. That said he didn't pan out in Boston. Thanks for the effort in trying to make it back and help the club. Glad to see him going though. Wouldn't have minded if he was sent to the BP. I'm psyched to see Tazawa.
  11. I'm just saying. If he signs an extension this off season, it will be less then what you think. I think you will be surprised. That's just my opinion of the matter. I believe Beckett to genuinely likes Boston. I know people say this a lot. I usually stay clear of this train of thought. But in this case I believe it could possibly be true. If he hits the FA market, there's no telling what he will get.
  12. They all signed with the Yankees fool. No other team is paying those prices.
  13. I bet Beckett gets a reasonable raise. Less then what Jacko is thinking. 4/5yrs, 12-15M per. The Sox won't offer him CC/Johan $. They will try and get him at what they think is a valuable price. Beckett being the way he is, is likely to sign and not put up much of a fuss. And go about his business as usual.
  14. OMG, what a tool. He has to be the dumbest analyst ever. I can't believe he actually ran a franchise. He's either really dumb, or completely just mails it in and hhopes his good looks will carry him lol
  15. You never know who will make it through waivers. I bet you Rios will pass. He wouldn't be a bad pick up right now. There should be some guys to get through. We should know soon anyways. They can still make moves. Don't go all "sky is falling" yet:lol:
  16. I think Buchholz will get a few more starts before he might be sent to the BP. They might give him until the rosters expand. Then the Sox should be getting Dice-K,Wake(probably before then), Bowden, Byrd to all make some Septemeber starts.
  17. And Reddick got sent down right? Youk in LF tonight?LMAO
  18. Sorry about that. Dipre Pm'd me and said it was my turn.
