  2. Ecks makes me laugh. I like his insights and his euphemisms. And i thing him and Orsillo have nice chemistry in the booth. He's comfortable in the booth. Not the same can be said about Roberts. I can see Ecks not being everyone's "cup of tea". But I hope he is the longtime replacement for Remy if he doesn't return.
  3. Little late for wanting a trade. I finally give you a straight non crazy response to the thread you have started and you still take the piss out of me. But it's all good. When I end up being right it will make it o so much sweeter:lol:

I think Dice-K has trade value, you don't. Agree to disagree. And we move on to the next topic we disagree on;)
  5. Seems it might be neccissary. I think Tazawa and Bowden might get a few spot starts. I agree and good pitching is probably not going to clear waivers. I wonder how close Sheets is to pitching. He's still a FA right? Sheets, Byrd Mulder, Lieber, Prior, Rogers are some of the veterans that are on cots FA SP list. Any of those worth a flyer?

So his 18 wins and 3 something ERA from last season mean nothing? And 2007? Hasn't that been one of your arguments for keeping him? What''s you cut off for "proven"? Last 2 seasons, Dice-K 33 W's, 3.6 ERA 371+ IP(AL East) Webb 40 W's 3.2 ERA 462 IP(NL West) Peavy 29 W's 2.6 ERA 406 IP(NL West) The numbers are comparable. Obviously Peavy and Webb's number are better. But if you take into consideration the leagues, I think it is reasonable to think they would be somewhat closer. He wouldn't command as much as those two probably. But he could still land a decent package. Or maybe a really good player if prospects are added in.
  7. Sox fans should hope this kid pans out. Might be the only way the Sox get Mauer:D
  8. Tazawa might fill in Masterson's role soon. If Smoltz stays in the rotation that is. But he is tearing it up in the minors. The only thing that is going to hold him back is an innings cap. Looking forward I also see Tazawa as being a name of interest as a trading chip in a possible Hernendez deal.
  9. Drew can be frustrating sometimes. But overall I'm a supporter. As far as Drew or Markakis? Markakis by a land slide. It's not even close.

 I've been waiting for that all morning. I wouldn't say he has zero trade value. Peavy was traded with an injury. Brandon Webb would probably still bring in something of value if AZ traded him this off season. I'm not comparing these guys on the field. More just it's not unheard of to trade someone coming off of injury. I agree spud. Seattle and San Francisco would be ideal landing spots for him. Best case scenario is he's healthy and pitching decent and has excepted the Red Sox ways. His stuff is great. It just drives me mad the way he pitches. Probably more so because I can see him being dominant if he would change his approach. 2nd best scenario, he comes back healthy pitches decent and the Sox could move him for something of value. worst case scenario, His shoulder becomes a problem, and we are stuck with a thick headed Mark Prior for the next couple years.

I more or less put the article up to show Kilo and Dipre I'm not the only one thinking Dice-K could be moved:D I won't mind if they keep and try and work through the issues they have.

8M a year for a mid to top rotation(if healthy and not being a dumbass) is not very much.
  13. Seems I'm not the only one to see something possibly happening:D
  14. I have a lot of respect for Dave Roberts. But he is horrible in the booth. Ecks and Orsillo have some chemistry together. Roberts and Orsillo, it's like Crickets...
  15. I agree. The Sox have a couple guys in house that can fill in. As for who was on the market? I guess Willingham might have been a decent pick up form the Nats. But you have to weigh how much they could possibly help as a 5th OF, to how much they would have cost to acquire.
  16. I'm all for making a huge package to send to Seattle for Felix. I think it can be done. I wonder if the would take Dice-K in a deal with some prospects? lol
  17. I've already stated I see Papelbon getting traded this off season. Bard is the closer of the future.
  18. Wasn't the point. This is to try and infuse some new life into the league;)
  19. A couple of my guys aren't signed. So it will probably be closer to 60M+.
  20. Looking forward to seeing Reddick and V-Mart
  21. BEEKUZZZ IMA CARDZ FANNNNN!
  22. I like the 2nd option as well. I don't see a lot of SP making it through waivers though.
  23. 55M. But I would be spending a ton very soon LOL
  24. I thought maybe the Anti-Fantasy League needed a jump start. Kilo please excuse me if I'm out of line. Feel free to have a mod obliterate the thread if need be. I just thought this could be something to add outside of the lineup/rotation discussion. http://mlbcontracts.blogspot.com/ Here is the link to Cots. Nothing better for knowing players salaries. I just figure adding this component to the league might make for some more conversation. I know it doesn't count for or against how we have built our respective teams. But I just thought knowing what everyone was around would be interesting. I will be posting my shortly.
