  1. Uggla is a bit of a butcher at 2B. But Phillips is pretty good in the field IIRC
  2. I asked if this was fee sable a few weeks ago and didn't receive much support for the idea. But if Pedroia could be moved to SS and the Sox can acquire a 2B like Phillips it might be an interesting option.
  3. I've already been saying that outside of Holliday the FA class is uninspiring. I am not one of the "Sign Lackey and deal Buchholz" group. IMHO I don't see Lackey being worth what it will take to get him. to me the guy is a walking red flag. I won't blame Theo if he decides to save rather then hand out long term deals to questionable players. 2011 draft class is much more impressive. I also don't think the Red Sox have to go crazy to be competitive next season either. So as much as I don't like hearing the Sox might not do much. I can honestly see the reasoning behind it. And wouldn't blame them for passing on this years FA class. I can still hold out for a trade
  4. Toronto's leverage continues to fall.
  5. Interesting take on the situation.
  6. I'll try to remember this in future discussions;)
  7. It's not like the Marlins have given a reason for the fans to get attached to any players.
  8. Are you referring to the couple months he spent playing in pitchers paradise? The same place where he was surrounded by a very uninspiring cast? While Bay played in one of the more hitter friendly parks, surrounded by quality players.
  9. I was very vocal and very anti-Bay during this stretch:D. I don't like how hot and cold he tends to be. Drove me nuts.
  10. Indeed
  11. Brought this from another thread.
  12. We should however take the conversation to "Hot Stove" though. Hanley isn't a FA
  13. Hanley & Uggla for 2 top prospects + SP prospect + 2 low level types with upside. Maybe add a BP arm like MDC. Is that a good offer, or at least a good starting point? I'm hoping a deal can get done with out Buchholz. Not sure how reasonable that is though.
  14. I think Uggla could be better then Bay. I mean you have to have some sort of defensive skill to play 2B in the bigs. Ellsbury Pedroia Hanley Youkilis Martinez Ortiz Lowell Drew Uggla I can get on board for that lineup. Batting order subject to change of course
  15. Doesn't Peralta play 3B now? I'm trying not to get too excited here, this would be probably the ultimate dream come true He makes 7M this year. That is manageable for every team not named the "Marlins".
  16. Sweet Christ.... Pretty sure he would be marketing himself as a SS if this were the case. It could have a slight effect of his value and contract demands.
  17. This could really just be selective memory, but usually if the SS has been a better then average SS, they tend to become decent 3B? I mean off the top of my head I think of Arod and Ripken. I believe Glaus was a SS at one point. I mean would it be too unreasonable for Tejada to be at least average at 3B?
  18. No worries, I know I can be vague sometimes
