  1. His agent came out and said the story was was off base.
  2. Rollins won the MVP in 2007. It's not like it was 1997. I'm just saying my feeling is out of all the big FA's, Werth is going to be the player you look back in a couple years from now and maybe wish they hadn't signed him. I could be totally wrong. Werth has me as concerned or more the Bay did at this time last year. edit: I also have some concerns with Crawford. Just not as many as Werth.
  3. LAD has been spending a decent amount on their SP rotation.
  4. I'd rather they over pay with prospects and get Upton. Werth for 80-100M is not attractive at all. If Upton bust the contract isn't bad. If Werth busts, that's an albatross.
  5. Werth hit in a bandbox for a home park, was surrounded by two MVP's and Chase Utley. Was a fairly late Bloomer and I have read some stuff recently that he isn't a gem off the field/in the clubhouse. I think Bay had better track record and had less red flags then Werth(although Bay's was an health issue, but I would have to imagine the issues I have brought up could come close to = a health risk) and Werth is going to cost more to sign. Not sure I see it. I think it's reporters connecting the dots without actually considering the details. But it's the day after Thanksgiving, so them being lazy is fine
  6. I hope it's only 4 years. Werth worries me.
  7. I'm ok if it's Kalish. But that should take Ellsbury off the market. But I still would be surprised if LAD let him go for that. They are spending money and don't seem to be a team that is sending "selling" signals The Sox won't need to trade that much for Agon. SD won't trade him until they are out. At that time they are looking at a deal similar to what LAA paid for Tex. Not what Atlanta paid. LAA got a 1/2 year or so of Tex for Casey Kotchman and a prospect. The time for a big haul for Agon has passed IMO. I would not be surprised if they held onto him for the duration of the season and collected the picks for him. Let's not forget Hoyer is a Theo disciple. He will high draft picks probably more so then what he may be looking at come deadline time. Of course there is always the chance of a desperate GM that might overpay. Other then that I think they collect the picks.
  8. Dice-K +1 for Either? That's a bit optimistic. Like the idea though.
  9. It's becoming a more interesting story then I thought it would. I don't care about the outcome either way, it's just made for some entertaining reading.
  10. Then the will likely give him more money on the 3 year offer. Which isn't exactly short term either. That's a serious investment for a lot of teams.
  11. That's reasonable. I believe the original reason I didn't like the Lackey deal is because I thought it would screw them with Beckett negotiations. But since that didn't happen I probably shouldn't hold it against him like I do. Looking passed the money the guy is a bull dog type. Bit of a meatball sometimes, but still I shouldn't hate on him as much as I do for some reason.
  12. Bard is one of those guys I'd really rather they not trade. Especially with Papelbon likely leaving town next off season. I'd rather they give up Kelly. Or even trade Papelbon and swin those prospects AZ's way. But if it comes down to it and that's what it takes to get Upton, I won't be totally upset. I wonder if they could swin a couple prospects for Soria? Or they could just sign Mo for 2 years LOL
  13. This is the deal I'm hoping goes south for the Yankees. Sign Jeter long term and lose Mo would be best case scenario
  14. It would be nice. He's not the be all end all player though. I am interested in the short 4-5 year deal that was mentioned earlier. But so far I haven't seen it anywhere else. So not sure if it's a true story or not.
  15. Meh. Maybe. But I think there is enough LHH in the lineup. I'm not a huge fan of AJ. Besides i don't think he's that big of an improvement behind the plate as well.
  16. I'm hoping Theo and company get us a nice Thanksgiving day surprise like they have in the past
