  1. Ken Waldichuk. Look at the numbers. 5th rounder in 2019, missed 2020 due to covid. Is now in High A. He has thrown 18.2 shutout innings, 8 hits, 8 walks, 38K. The kid should probably move up
  2. Garcia is also 22 yrs old and was struggling in AAA the past 2 weeks. Nothing like bringing a kid up when he is scuffling to boost his stock. The kid is running into what other great prospects run into, their first real rut. It will be how he responds that will set him apart. He is also not the standard prospect. Nowadays every prospect throws 97. This kid tops out at 95-96 but mostly sits 91-92. His claim to fame is the movement he gets on his pitches and the change of speeds. Thing is, he is sacrificing command for movement. That will work in the lower minors, but will get you killed as you move up. He will learn his lesson, but he needs to stick in AAA for a bit to hone his craft. I also like Mike King, but today's start was something similar to Garcia. King is a sinker slider guy. Today, his sinker wasnt really sinking, but it was running a mile. It was almost entirely moving laterally which meant he couldnt command it enough to avoid walks, but also meant he couldnt command it in the zone. These guys are young, they will get their stuff together eventually. The major issue I have today is the fact that we scored 2 earned runs off the Tigers in 26+IP. You cannot win if you don't hit and this offense is lifeless when Judge and Stanton don't hit. We are past the 1/3 marker of the season. It might be time for a new philosophy
  3. Time to fire someone. A sweep is unexplainable
  4. Wilson to the IL. Britton starts a rehab assignment. Deivi to the bump today
  5. The thing that I’m holding the yanks accountable for is the lack of adjustments. If you can’t hit as a team, then you better generate runs. Get guys on base, move them over, drive them in from 3rd with less than 2 outs. This team seems to get base traffic and keep swinging for the fences. The dead ball has turned this back to 80s baseball and our pen/rotation is dominating. You don’t need to win games 10-9 anymore, but you better find a way to win 3-2
  6. And Thames too. Overrated hitting coach
  7. I doubt flu. Norovirus is starting to roll again. It’s hard to sweep a DHer and Manoah was great, but the offense in game 1 had zero punch. Stanton returns tonight, so that should help. We need someone at the bottom of the order to step up or we need to start shaking things up
  8. Aroldis wasnt available for some reason. Likely a f***ing injury trifecta
  9. Gardy is a veteran. When you bring up a rookie, put him in a spot to succeed
  10. Another out on the bases
  11. Florian is a lefty. You start him vs the lefty?
  12. Their problem right now is they can’t f***ing hit. They’re wasting another solid starting performance
  13. I would also be downright shocked if they pass on Leiter or Rocker should they fall. The Orioles have hitters in their system, but their pitching prospects suck
  14. I would be shocked if the O's selected another catcher with Rutschmann in the minors already.
  15. I know, for a fact, that the Yanks have picked previously with system depth in mind. Not usually first round, though
  16. I wonder if he strained it early on and hid it or tried to manage it rather than let it heal. Luke takes vicious cuts and pulls the ball hard. When he came back, he was more of an oppo singles hitter than a reigning HR champ
  17. I’d assume Deivi will come up and Sevy in the wings, but Deivi has been hit or miss in AAA thus far. Voit never looked right. Makes me wonder if he was hurting before he pulled it good
  18. Kluber is better than Pivetta mostly because both are performing well and Kluber has done it before at a tremendously higher level. With a guy like Pivetta, who may be flashing in the pan or breaking out, you always wonder if the bottom will drop out. With Kluber, the concern is will his arm hold together. We shall see. Kluber is writing off the shoulder, but as I have said before, unless his velo returns and his MRI is clean, I am skeptical
  19. They typically are, but if there is a certain weak spot in your system and the BPA's are close, you go where there is a need in terms of position
  20. You guys faced a good major leaguer. We got shut down by Steve Matz. What a joke
  21. I am still of the belief that if one of the two starters fall to Boston that there is now way they pass on them. Not a chance
  22. I would agree with that if he went above a usual workload. He only threw 101 pitches. That is a usual workload.
  23. Kluber described his shoulder as feeling “fatigued” rather than tight. Doesn’t change anything for me. The MRI needs to be clean and his velo needs to be where it was during the no no for me to be appeased.
