  1. Guys can get better as the game goes along. But do I need to put a caveat on everything for you guys? Okay, I'll break it down for you children. Thus far, Mr. Josh Beckett does not appear sharp in the first inning, you know. Mostly because he is throwing his fastball up and over the plate and he doesnt seem to have the location on his breaking ball. Obviously, this can change, but this is the worst I have seen Beckett against the Yanks thus far this yr
  2. based on the fact that his breaking ball is out of the zone and his FB is up. This inning, he has been anything but sharp. He nearly gave up another tater. If it wasnt for bitch titties cycling off the roids, he'd have given up 2 bombs this inning
  3. Beckett is not sharp tonight. CC is.
  4. You gotta go high to beat Curtis. You cannot go down or away.
  5. You gotta be f***ing kidding me. Hey Yankees, put on your man pants and go out and throw head high at the next red sox f*** that steps into the box. What f***ing pussies. Girardi, I thought, was all about "how the game is supposed to be played." Well, there have been 3 f***ing instances where you should have decked someone and all you did was bend over and grab your ankles. Make things a little interesting in the box. Back em off, hit a couple of guys. And btw, nice start to the game
  6. a passed ball would be apropo
  7. I f***ing hate Cervelli
  8. Not me, I have a little one to put to bed
  9. Lucky f***ing hit. I am not sure why the hell Ells is even standing near 1st. Cervelli loves to play catch with Granderson
  10. he was at 8 when I posted. He is a horse
  11. Of note, Jose Ramirez, the 21 yr old Dominican who pitched well in A ball last yr, was demoted about a month ago back to the SAL. He's been much better in the SAL, although the walks remain high. After a horrible run of starts, Sean Black has found his groove. In his last 3 starts, he has an ERA of 2.16, a WHIP of 1.14, and a K/9IP of 6. He got hot around this time last yr and it looks like he might be moving in that direction. David Phelps continues to dominate. He has thrown 76.1IP this yr, with an ERA of 2.95, a WHIP of 1.26 and a K/9IP of 7.8. He is the most ready starter in AAA Adam Warren is coming on strong as well. His ERA is now in the low 3's, and his WHIP fell below 1.4 tonight after tossing 8 strong innings. He is shaping into a starting pitching option as well DJ Mitchell has been his phenomenal self this yr. ERA sub 3, limiting the walks, and getting grounders. I think his future is as a swing man, but he might get a shot in the rotation Brackman has been absolutely abysmal out of the rotation, although recent reports have noted his FB to be sitting in the 95-96 range. Not sure why they are waiting to move him to the pen. There are better prospects below him and more polished pitchers at his level. With his lack of a change and lack of confidence in long outings, the rotation just doesnt seem to be feasible for him. If he went to the pen, he could be akin to Daniel Bard. He throws mid 90s as a starter, he could reach the high 90s in 1 inning stints. And his lack of a change wont hurt in the pen, he can use his spike curve and his hard heater to generate outs. My guess is the Yanks want to give him this one last season to decide before moving him to the pen next season. Next yr is his last option yr, so they have to figure something out or risk losing him Kevin Whelan has finally shown his closer type stuff. He has always had it, but the walks were his nemesis. This yr, he's only issued 6 in 27IP, while K'ing 30 and having a WHIP of 0.85. He is due to be called up today or tomorrow, so we'll see what all the fuss is about.
  12. Bret Marshall also found a groove. Over his last 8 starts... 47IP 42H 12ER 20BB 38K for a 2.29ERA 1.32WHIP and 7.3K/9IP. If he works on the control, he'll be something. Good to see him settling down
  13. Not sure why they are keeping Betances in AA. He has nothing else to learn. 6IP 3H 0ER 1BB 8K. ERA down to 1.75 with 58K in 51.1IP
  14. Lots of idiotic things going on in the Bronx. Might be a good yr to take a step back so we can make a leap forward. Very intrigued to see what happens with this team. I wouldnt mind Freddy Garcia going down with TJS. Cmon duct tape Freddy, rip the UCL for me, please!!
  15. BTW, Hughes was hitting 92 consistently in his bullpen session. You have to think that with more reps, he'll be riding a higher FB. This is a huge blow to the teams biggest strength. Soriano is probably going to need TJS too, IMO. But we have a glut of kids in the minors with big time arms who needed a chance. Here comes their chance. I expect Noesi to be called up as soon as his 2 weeks are up and be a key cog either in the pen or the rotation. I also expect Kevin Whelan to see the pen soon as well. By the end of the yr, it wouldnt shock me at all if we see Dellin Betances in the yankee pen.
  16. And the hits keep on coming. Well, might be time to bring up some of the new kids on the block and see what they can do. No more Marquez and Sanit garbage. Bring up the big boys
  17. Wouldnt be surprised if he has some meniscal damage there. Surgery is the only true way to fix it. It would likely be a 30 minute arthroscopic procedure, he'll be running by week 2 and should be able to play in rehab games by the beginning of July. If this is all it is, the sox would be stupid to delay it. The meniscus is a cartilagenous covering on the bones in the knee to act as a shock absorber. The meniscus has no nerves, so it doesnt hurt. But when injured, the cartilage shears and a flap is left floating in the synovial fluid. That flap can get pinched between the bones during movements and causes a pulling on the bone, which hurts a lot. All they do is shave down the flap and it's over with. But if you delay fixing it, the flap could get larger and essentially go deep down into the meniscus itself, leading to a complete tear. That could cost you a season or worse, set you up for accelerated arthritis
  18. This team, as currently constituted, cannot beat the sox in a 7 game series. And in order to win the WS, they will need to do that. The sox just passed the Yankees, although in the L column they are tied. But this might be the last time the Yanks are within sniffing distance of them. The Yankees are a playoff team, but the sox are a juggernaut. We need to see our hitters actually come to play before we are down by 7 and we need at least one more pitcher capable of beating elite competition.
  19. It wont matter. Whomever you throw out there for the next 9 outs will allow exactly 2 runs and have the Yanks leave a total of 5 men on base
  20. That wild pitch killed us. I dont know how Gardy doesnt take home on that. That would have made the game 8-6 and the groundout would have made it 8-7 with Grandy up and the tying run in scoring position. Instead, captain f***ing double play sucked in the clutch again and we got f***ed. Seriously, I love Jeter and think he is a surefire HOFer, but he f***ing sucks nowadays. f***ing sucks
  21. Have done a fair amount of reading over the past couple of days, AND, I have read a bunch of scouting reports on these guys. The Yankees picked a ton of HS talent, with nearly every case being signability.
  22. Captain DP at the dish
  23. Cervelli with no one to pinch hit. f***ing great
  24. Great idea bringing in f***ing Logan. s***, would have been better off staying a blowout. As it stands, the game will bring me close enough to think we have a shot, then smash me down into submission
