  1. 11th rounder- Caleb Frare- LHP- Custer County HS- Montana- Solid framed lefty, SR to follow
  2. Bang 11th rounder- Jamal Martin, HS CF from Florida 12th rounder- Mike Meyers, HS SS from Nevada
  3. get ready y'all. The sox went pretty safe, have 3 signability guys then took a lot of underslot guys. They are stockpiling cash for the rest as are the Yanks
  4. 10th Rounder- Matthew Snyder- 1b from Ole Miss- Senior sign, big guy, lots of power, lots of holes in the swing. Big league bloodlines. Probably nothing major and another underslot signee
  5. 9th rounder- Derek Varnadore- RHP Auburn U. Another senior sign guy. They are gonna go buck wild after the 10th cause all these guys should allow for us to throw some extra money at high schoolers
  6. 8th rounder- Taylor Dugas- CFer, U of Alabama- senior sign, all time hits leader at Alabama. Not a lot of projection, should once again be underslot
  7. Maybe they are bringing up Cook?
  8. 8th rounder- Nathan Minnich 1B Shepherd College- He's a senior college first baseman. They have to be going under slot. I wonder if Marrero is going to be asking for ridiculous money
  9. Youre sending someone down for Saturday as DiceK will be up
  10. Recap- 1. Devin Marrero- SS- ASU- pretty safely projects as a big league shortstop. No humongous skill, limited ceiling in terms of generational talent, but safely projects to play SS in the bigs with good contact, good glove, good arm, average speed and a professional plate approach. 1. Brian Johnson- LHP- Florida U- Big lefty who is more a crafty guy than a power guy. Sits high 80s, tops out at 91-92. Good slider, projectable change and good command. Safely projects as a middle to back of the rotation pitcher. Reminds me of the Yankee pick of Jeremy Bleich from a few yrs ago. 1-supp- Pat Light- RHP- Monmouth U- Tall righty with power, sits low to mid 90s with good sink. Slider needs to tighten up but has good potential. Change is a minus. Has the ceiling of a closer and looks to be a pen arm in the sox system. Should move fast 2- Jamie Callahan- RHP- Dillon HS, SC- good framed righty with power and projection. Can top out at 95 as an 18 yr old. Has a true 12-6 curve with plus potential and a change with plus potential. Will take a lot of money to sign 3- Austin Maddox- RHP- Florida U- Reliever with low 90s heat, good sink, can top out in the mid 90s when needed. Slider has plus potential but can be inconsistent. Had been a two way player, so should be interesting to see how he does when he focuses only on pitching. Will likely be started in the minors as a starter, but has reliever upside. 4. Ty Buttrey- RHP- Providence Sr. HS- NC- Tall, large framed righty who can run it up there in the mid 90s. Good now curve with a lot of projection. Change that has plus potential. Will be a tough sign for sure 5. Mike Augliera- RHP- Binghampton U- will see what I can get 6. Justin Haley- RHP- Fresno State U- college pitcher, will see what I can find 7. Kyle Kraus- RHP- Univ of Portland- college righty with finge stuff, but was the ace of Portland's staff.
  11. 7th rounder- Garrison Taylor- Fresno State- Short stature senior righty. Closer at FSU, have no idea how he throws
  12. 7th rounder Sox get Kyle Kraus- RHP University of Portland. The sox have gone with all pitchers since drafting Marrero with their first pick
  13. I love your 4th round choice. Ty Buttrey from a Charlotte HS. 6'5" lanky kid who was sitting mid 90s before he tired down into the low 90s. Good enough curve, change in progress. Very high upside
  14. 1. Ty Hensley, RHP, Edmond Santa Fe HS, OK 2a. Austin Aune, CF, Argyle HS, TX 2b. Peter O'Brien, C, University of Miami 3. Nathan Mikolas, OF, Bradford HS, WI 4. Corey Black, RHP, Faulkner University 5. Rob Refsnyder, 2B, Arizona University 6. Nick Goody, RHP, LSU 7. Tayler Garrison, RHP, Fresno St. U 8. Taylor Dugas, CF, Alabama University 9. Derek Varnadore, RHP, Auburn University 10. Matthew Snyder, 1B, Ole Miss 11. Caleb Frare, LHP, Custer County HS, MT 12. Christopher Breen, C, Winter Springs HS, FL 13. James Pazos, LHP, University of San Diego 14. Andrew Benak, RHP, Rice University 15. Dayton Dawe, RHP, AB Lucas SS Canada 16. Stefan Lopez, RHP, Southeastern Louisiana University 17. Timothy Flight, LHP, SNHU 18. Brady Lail, RHP, Bingham HS, UT 19. Dietrich Enns, LHP, CMU 20. Michael Reynolds, SS, TAMU 21. James Reed, LHP, Maryland University 22. Brett Marks, RHP, Wallace State CC, AL 23. Vincent Jackson, CF, Luella HS, GA 24. Jose Mesa Jr., RHP, Charles Flanagan HS, FL 25. Ty Moore, OF, Mater Dei HS, CA 26. Charles Haslup, RHP, U Maryland College Park 27. Daniel Oh, OF, UC Berkeley 28. Demetrius Stewart, OF, The Bolles School, FL 29. Jose Diaz, LHP, Advantage Learning Institute 30. Raphael Rhymes, OF, LSU 31. Kevin Johnson, RHP, University of Illinois 32. Garrett Cannizaro, SS, Tulane University 33. Saxton Butler, 1B, Samford University 34. Eric Erickson, LHP, Miami University 35. Kyle Farmer, SS, Georgia University 36. Dalton Smith, C, University City HS, CA 37. Charles Basford, RHP, Samford University 38. David Thompson, OF, Westminster Christian School, FL 39. Bo Decker, OF, East Ridge HS, FL 40. Sherman Lacrus, OF, Western Oklahoma State Col, OK Beginning draft pool: $4,192,200
  15. 6th rounder- Nick Goody- reliever from LSU, struck out 39 and walked only 3 in his time at LSU. The Yankees drafted him last yr out of JuCo, but he didnt sign. Now, they really want him. Sits low 90s, throws a good slider and a workable change. I am unsure if we are going to try to bring him through as a starter or really see him fly through the system as a reliever. He's a good value pick with some potential impact within the next 2 yrs or so
  16. 5th rounder- Rob Refsnyder, Arizona University- He's a college hitter. No defined position, average speed, average arm, solid professional bat with a good approach. Sounds like a potential underslot signee
  17. 4th Rounder- Corey Black- Faulkner University- NAIA pitcher with great stuff, but played against inferior competition. Can run it up there topping out at 97 with a good curve and change combo. Due to the league and the fact that he hasnt really been challenged, he is a bit of an unknown, but if his stuff can be refined in the pros, he has the stuff to be a top of the rotation pitcher.
  18. 3rd rounder- Nathan Mikolas- Bradford HS, WI- Lefty hitting centerfielder with a sub 6.9 second sixty, power to all fields and a good arm. Raw mechanics, from the great white north, but can hit the daylights out of the ball. I have no earthly idea how they are staying under their allotment this yr. This is another high upside kid with power
  19. Gotta go after this pick. 3rd rounder for the sox- Austin Maddox- RHP- U Florida. Closer for the gators, sits low to mid 90s, good sink, inconsistent slider. Had been playing both ways, will be turned into a pitcher. The sox will likely start him in the rotation then move him back to get him some innings. This guy will be an easy sign
  20. 2A- Peter O'Brien- Catcher from Miami University- Plus raw power, good arm, improving mechanics. Sounds like an offensive first catcher. Should be a pretty easy sign as he is a senior. Add him to the pile. I like where they are going here. Callis thought he was a early 2nd rounder or a supp pick BA had him at 69. He broke his wrist in April, prior to that, he had 10HRs with an OPS over 1.100 at Miami U. The kid can absolutely rake and is a physical specimen. I am psyched to see what he can do. I love this draft so far
  21. 2. Austin Aune- Argyle HS, TX- 5 tool HSer who is a two sport player. Played a lot of SS in HS, but the Yankees are taking him as a CFer. Projectable body, potential plus power. Good speed, great arm, should be able to handle the move to CF with ease. He is considered to be raw. Another high upside pick for the Yankees, and will likely be a tough sign
  22. Jamie Callahan Round 2 for the sox. Gonna be a tough sign away from South Carolina. Projectable high schooler who tops out at 95. Projectable curve and change. He's got tools, the sox are gonna have to show him the money
