  1. Do you think before you speak? Player 1: .272/.370/.470 385HR Player 2: .309/.369/.502 294HR Maggs was the better player offensively.
  2. I am not sure Garza is right for any of us. Like I said, less than 6IP per start
  3. My concern is the fact that we get a lot deeper next yr and we have a lot of pitching ready and waiting. If we deal for Garza, we'd have to move some of it, ie Warren, Mitchell, etc
  4. The big thing for Clay will be proving his durability. It is pretty obvious that he was reticent to go all out early and just sucked completely. He is bringing out more effort and more velocity. We'll see if he can hold up.
  5. I think the sox will find a market as a DH in the AL and a 1b. His bat still plays, but he continuously gets hurt. I think a dark horse for his services will be Cleveland, who could use a 1b and with Hafner being a regular on the DL, could use some offensive stability
  6. Also, Garza has a rep of a top of the rotation pitcher, but he is averaging less than 6IP per start in the NL Central. Thats a big red flag IMO
  7. Good for the Mets fans. My dad is a Mets fan, and he was pretty psyched
  8. Charleston must be loving all the prospects they have received. That team is the most interesting team to watch in our system. Mason Williams has cooled down, but still has a circa .800OPS and 14 steals while playing GG caliber D. Tyler Austin is absolutely abusing the level. He has a .327/.402/.668 triple slash line with 13 homers, 36 extra base hits, and 13 steals. Gary Sanchez has gotten white hot of late. After not hitting a homer in April, he has hit 7 homers in May and has stolen 8 bases to go along with a cool .848OPS. Angelo Gumbs sucked in April. But in May, he exploded. His OPS sits at .766, but he 5 of his 6 homers in May and ended up stealing 14 of his 19 bases. All of the above players are either 19 or 20, so they are all very young for their league. Other notables at that level. Dante Bichette started off poorly, but has started hitting of late. The power is a little late to the party, but he did hit his first homer of the yr. Ben Gamel is hitting .288 with 10 steals. Anderson Feliz was hitting .318 when he went on the DL. Cito Culver has had a lot of trouble hitting the ball, but his eye and glove are keeping him on the prospect boards. Add in the 12 steals and his speed makes things interesting as well, but he is a project. Bryan Mitchell, another Yankees top 10 prospect, has dominated the SAL. 52K's in 48IP. Troubled initially by the walks, but his WHIP sits at 1.16 and the ERA at 2.40. He is really looking good too
  9. Olney is reporting that the Yankees #1 trade target is Garza. It'd have to be quite a haul, since they gave up a lot to get him, but we have the stock. The question will be, who they want? If I had to guess.... Headliner A- Manuel Banuelos Headliner B- Tyler Austin Mid level A- Corban Joseph Mid level B- Nik Turley
  10. He really didnt start playing full time until he was 26, and his last full solid season was his age 35 season. In that time, he missed a lot of time in 04 and 05.
  11. triple and single. Great
  12. His numbers are great, but he didnt do it over a long enough period of time. You either need to be very good for a very long time or absolutely transcendant for a short period of time. Maggs was neither
  13. It is now a hurricane. Jake Cave to miss season with patellar fracture. f***!
  14. Glad we could take one from the Angels, but game 1 should have been in our hands if not for our incompetent manager. SO be it. The Halos are hot and when the middle of their order is hitting, they will be tough to beat
  15. Bailey tore the UCL in the thumb. This is different
  16. Once they started giving these guys millions of dollars, they were looked at as investments instead of ball players. And from an investment standpoint, you always want to protect your money. Its better that he rest for 4-6 weeks and come back healthy than it is for him to tough it out, need surgery and be in doubt for the rest of the yr
  17. It was a baby step in the right direction. The project is a failure if he is showing a lack of K potential, and last night he showed he could strike people out.
  18. I am just busting your chops, simmer down. Nava had a great week. Since then, he's been below replacement value. It's eerily similar to something he did a couple years ago, imagine that. The holes in his swing render him a poor regular. The holes in his D make him a poor 4th OFer. Overall, he doesnt have a long term place on the club and I expect a DFA once Ross is back
  19. He was 9 for his first 19. Since then, he is 7 for 39. Youk was hot for 2 months. Nava was hot for a week.
  20. So now Daniel Nava is Kevin Youkilis. I see.....
