He will have a gradual build up process. But he wont be cleared to make full strength throws from the outfield until late March or early April. It's a 6-8 month recovery time, and I would assume they will wait on his full on throws until very late in the yr. They really dont want to f*** with this
This couldnt be more true. I see 7 yr olds brought in with outta control behavior who get sent to a myriad of locations to coddle them into the penal system when they get older. Its called being a parent. Set some f***ing limits, show the kid that you're the boss and the problem goes away. Tell them that you are their friend and the world owes them something and they turn out as douchebags.
YOTN, you make great points man. We are a country that sides with the villains and forget the victims. Pineda is a douche who shouldn't drive again. He's a Yankee, and as a fan, I hope he plays well for my team when he finally pitches. He's lucky he didn't kill someone. The majority of people that I see killed in car accidents involving drunk driving aren't the drunk drivers. But weak punishments will continue to perpetuate the problem. If you lost your license for 5 years or so, then maybe it'll deter a little more. Arizona is actually hard as hell on drunk drivers. 2 weeks in an outdoor tent prison during the summer, mandatory. No AC, hard work in 120 degree weather. At least it's something more than a 90 day loss of license
This from mlbtraderumors.com. I dont see why the sox would want this. Wells has played like s*** for a few yrs now and Lackey is coming off surgery. Also, the sox need pitching and if Lackey returns to a semblance of his prior form, they would be better served keeping him. Obviously, if he sucks in his return, they could rekindle the deal since Wells would likely still suck anyway
The problem is, you have Lucchino effectively running the team AND the marketing department. That cannot be the case in Boston. What puts butts into seats and sells memorabilia isnt always the best thing for the team
He'll be able to hit by spring training, I can guarantee you that much. He'll likely DH through the spring, then get clearance to play OF full time sometime in April.
Henry cares about making money and continuing to make money. But with nobody taking a dividend, my guess is that Henry has made little money off the sox (probably in terms of salary only) and will likely make the most money when they sell. If the sox continue to suck, lose their sellout streak and dont fill their seats, then the value of his business falls and his exit date gets pushed back. He will definitely care about that. If I were him, I would sell the sox immediately after their next playoff run
Aviles has actually had a great defensive season with a UZR/150 of 10.6 and a WAR of 2.3. Iglesias will likely not have that much of an impact in yr 1. Lavarnway, you might have a point. I think a lot of the sox pitching weakness comes from a weak catcher. That being said, a rookie catcher isnt likely going to change that
This is pretty dumb. Pettitte is starting a throwing program and will be back within 2-3 weeks. ARod hasnt been ARod, but his numbers this yr are still very solid. It also allows Chavez or ARod to DH.
It's not even f***ing close. The sox would have to PAY someone to take Beckett. And the marlins have already asked for a f***ing haul for Johnson. You're gonna have to start with Barnes and Bradley
Ichiro really put his signature on this win. Big game from Kuroda, too, who will be in the Cy Young conversation this yr (top 5, won't win it). Once we get CC, Tex, ARod, and Pettitte back, we're gonna be hard to beat
He might be turning it around. He's certainly been good for a few starts now. We'll see how the next 6 weeks go. But a700 is right. He cannot come into 2013 slotted any higher than #3, because if he falls on his face again and he is supposed to be your #2 pitcher, then you'll be in the basement again
Thus far, Ichiro has been vintage in a Yankee uni. .322/.344/.502 with 3 bombs and 4 steals. He's had a hit in 24 of his 26 games in NY and has played solid D in RF and LF.
