  1. Seriously, the girl reporting from the field has significantly diminished since last yr
  2. Tied in the L column with the Jays now. Sweep you very much!
  3. Go with Jem or maybe an old school N'Sync poster as an avatar
  4. The last time the mojo was broken, the sox won 10 of the next 28 games. Cmon Fred, break that mojo
  5. Lackey can "retire" and play in Japan for good money
  6. It was a complete and utter f***up bringing him into the rotation. He had already failed as a starter in the minors. The Yankees better not do the same thing with Betances
  7. How do you know Jeter is like that with his teammates? You don't. Jeter doesn't draw attention to himself in the media like Papi does. Yes, he is authentic, but he is also a diva and a bitch at times.
  8. And he responds with 5RBI.
  9. He threw 212IP in his final season in Japan.
  10. He's 25. He'll be fine
  11. 14 straight QS's for Tanaka
  12. When was the last time Phil Hughes saw the 6th inning vs the sox? Heck, when was the last time he saw the 6th with only 68 pitches?
  13. Tanaka not at his best, but able to get through again. In half his starts, he is unhittable. In the other half, he battles. I love this guy
  14. BTW, the thing that pisses me off so much about Hughes is that he is doing one thing differently, and voila, the ball stays in the yard. When we faced him, his fastball was almost exclusively 2 seam. He's throwing a sinker up there now, instead of that straight 4 seam homer ball. Rothschild couldn't have thought of that? Hey, this kid has great stuff, but cant keep the ball in the yard, let's 2 seam him and see if it works?
  15. His peripherals were always outstanding. His HR allowed might have something to do with the park, as he was a juggs machine in YS
  16. He was way better offensively than jeter
  17. If he played in NY, Boston, Chicago or LA, this would be lead story news with ESPN videos of people wailing in the streets. That he slogged away for two decades in SD kinda hid how amazing he was. The guy hit .340 for his career over 20 years in an era where you faced specialists and dominant relievers. Teddy Ballgame did his facing the same pitcher 4 or 5 times a game. Tony didn't. He was definitely the best pure hitter I have ever seen
  18. And a joy to listen to his interviews, his commentary, etc. The guy was a rare athlete who was so insanely good, yet so incredibly humble. Nowadays, if you're good, you're told to flaunt it. Not this guy. He just showed up, dominated, and went home to his family.
  19. I told you he would. He couldn't pitch under pressure or in NYS.
  20. Only 54 years old from salivary gland cancer. Just awful. Seemed like an awfully nice guy and was probably the best pure hitter since Ted Williams
  21. I find this to be incredibly interesting, as typically when you have a good corner infielder, or at least someone with high upside, you typically do not want to decrease their value by shifting into a corner outfield spot
  22. And, he's already pocketed $85 mil. So it isn't like he needs the $500K. He's gonna get 8 figures in 2015. Bank on it
  23. Phelps tosses a gem. Good to see. We somehow have cobbled together a solid rotation after losing CC, Pineda, and Nova. Pineda isn't expected back until August. CC is out another month. There is no doubt that we need another front line starter. But for now, we're holding the fort
  24. David Ortiz runs like a fat kid
