  1. Castro is abysmal as a defender
  2. We don’t hit McCullers well. Gray is hanging on for dear life
  3. We all knew this was coming. I predicted this back in June. This is a MAJOR surgery, akin to what Dustin Fowler had done, although the wound is surgical rather than traumatic. Expect nothing from ERod next season. If he comes back and wins a spot, then that’s gravy
  4. We shall see. I think CC goes back to the bay area
  5. Also, flatter seamed balls are harder to snap, so you’ll see more hanging breaking balls and less movement on the whole compared to raised seam balls
  6. I’m on the fence mostly because I want Otani and I’m not sure how much more our overweight, arthritic kneed, postseason hero has left beyond this October.
  7. Except DD has said he wants someone with managerial experience and Cora doesn’t have that
  8. He is at the point where he has a chronic condition in the knee. He will need to be managed going forward. Not having a legitimate backup infielder would be foolish for the sox. I think Pedey plays 100 games, maybe 110 max this year and has some well placed "DL" stints to keep him from looking like he did at season's end this year
  9. I think it's all about expectations. The sox were expected to be runaway favorites to win the AL East and to contend with Cleveland to go to the world series. Thing is, the sox offense wasn't touched and the offense divebombed. The big pitching acquisitions during DD's term sucked against Houston and they were promptly run from the playoffs for the second year in a row. When your expectation is ALCS or WS and you don't make it, fans will be upset.
  10. If the sox offer the best package, then that is where he is going
  11. Jeter is the most competitive person the Yankees had during his long run. The guy didn't care if he was playing against a superior team or superior pitcher, he expected to get hits and he expected to win. He is now the acting owner of the Marlins. He's not doing this as a publicity stunt. He wants to win. He will take the best offer on the table, and if Yankee fans give him s***, then so be it.
  12. They don't quit. CC is reviving his career this postseason as well. What a performance. We need Gray to remember that he used to be a playoff ace and he is still in his prime tonight. Tying this series would be amazing.
  13. You guys keep harping on his contract. I think all sox fans should LOVE his contract. He played on a 6 yr $40.5 mil contract from 09-14 and racked up 32.3 WAR in that time. Per FG, he was worth $207 mil over that contract He was signed to the extension in 2013 but it didn't start until 2015. Thus far, in the first 3 years of that contract, he has been worth $78.9 mil even in his battered state. He took a discount for security with his first contract and took a discount for longevity with the second one. You cannot in any way shape or form be pissed at Pedey for his contract now. He easily could have left for more money or held the sox hostage for a $20 mil per annum contract. His 2014 season was really good and if the sox wanted to keep him on the open market, theyd have paid him far more
  14. Slash, he was running towards centerfield and cut the ball off. Throwing the ball to the 1b, who at that point would have been near the pitchers mound, is ridiculous. I get what you are saying, but he stopped the ball on the run in almost centerfield and threw it in with enough juice to hit Gregorius in the chest. Didi then turns to throw home, is thrown off by Correia popping up at 2b and spikes the ball to Sanchez who doesn't field the routine ground ball throw and allows the runner to score. Judge did a really good job there cutting it off and getting it in. If the SS and the catcher cannot execute and easy throw, catch and tag, then that's on them. If Didi lobbed the ball home, Altuve is out. He was dead
  15. I don’t disagree that Judge has come up small, but how can anyone look at that play and blame it on Judge? Didi got the ball and if he throws anything in the air from second, Altuve is out by 10 steps. If Sanchez fields that ball, Altuve is dead.
  16. You are trolling.
  17. Also, if we’re going to get nothing out of our DH spot, we might as well move Sanchez there and have Romine catch
  18. I have watched the replay. Yes, he ducked, but he popped up into him and altered his throw. That’s interference
  19. Two things Sanchez has to have that The umpires f***ed up again. Correia hit Didi as he was throwing. That’s interference. The game should still be going on. Abysmal umpiring this post season. Absolutely terrible
  20. We know where we are upgrading this offseason. 0 for 25 going back to 2012 from the DH spot in the playoffs
  21. This is why I wanted your sorry excuse of a baseball team to beat them. I’m not afraid of Verlander or any of their other pitchers. Barring dueling shutouts, we are losing game 5 to Keuchel. Just book it. We need to find a way to win 4 of 5 when he isn’t pitching. I’m not worried about Verlander or anyone else on the bump. We need to steer clear of Keuchel
  22. Judge comes up big and Bird runs like Big Bird. Damn, so close
