  1. I sincerely hope you go this route. Please, DD, listen to FsB.
  2. The Phils are willing to part with top 100 prospect Adonis Medina. They’ll land Machado on Wednesday. Also, the comparisons of Xander and Segura are apt in terms of WAR but not realistic in terms of progression with age. Speedsters don’t get the biggest contracts and A huge part of Segura’s game is speed. Bogaerts is coming into his own in the power department. He’ll age better than Segura and Boras knows it. Bogaerts also said he’s fine with going year to year. Now healthy, he’s poised to make significant bank in arbitration for the final time through. Bogey is on pace for a 6+ WAR season. If he produces like this for this year and next, he’ll end up getting a Machado style FA contract.
  3. Same with Pedroia. Both have arthritic knees. They won’t get better, they just have to learn to deal with them
  4. He’s stuck in a standstill with the same injury Pedroia had
  5. I told you all that the loss of Ortiz’ bat had a trickle down effect on the other players. These guys don’t play in vacuums. It’s eaiser to pitch to a lineup when nobody scares you. With JDM lurking in the middle, everyone got better
  6. But Wright and Pom aren’t healthy
  7. Rodriguez with “serious damage” in the ankle. Not sure how you have “serious” damage and not operate on a prime athlete. They’re making it sound like a grade 3 sprain yet most grade 3 sprains in professional athletes will be repaired operatively
  8. Why would NY want Moose? Andujar is better
  9. There are times when a team will broadcast a rebuild. Yanks in 2016. Marlins this year. The Sox were broadcasting that they were going for it and ended in last place twice. That’s the difference. Perception is important
  10. You can’t have a wait til next year approach. Your studs aside from Beni are getting expensive. Your second best pitcher is a FA at season’s end. You’ve got one more year on your ace and on JDM. If Henry doesn’t have the final threshold as a true barrier, then spend on and reinforce the team. The Sox need a real setup man as Kelly has been terrible of late and nobody else has stepped up. If ERod is out for awhile (6 weeks or so) then I’d also get a back end starter to pair with Johnson. Winning the 1 seed is incredibly important. Home field was very important for the Astros last year. Facing the Yanks, home field is even more important. I always thought Henry wouldn’t surpass the final hurdle, but it seems he’s willing.
  11. That’s real strange. Green spit the bit today. It happens. He’s been nails all year. Interesting to see Cleveland go with Carrasco to bridge to Allen
  12. He’d completed 6 innings against a potent offense in his second game coming off a month long layoff
  13. Wheeler will cost more than that since he’s not a rental and has been trending up. Dalbec and Ockimey have the same issue as they’re heading towards being a one note offensive 1b. While getting a power hitter into the system is always good, you’re talking about a 23 yr old Single A player. His value is very small until he proves he can hit AA or AAA pitching. Beeks IMO has limited value as well as he’s more a junkballing lefty and those types have very little room for error. Wheeler is going to return more than you think, which is why the Yanks have moved on. Cabrera will also return something of value as he can be a run producing MIF, which are rare.
  14. Why is Boone leaving Tanaka in?
  15. CC pitched far better than his line. The second run scored after a single, SB and two groundouts. The final two runs against him never should have scored. He shouldn’t have been left in to face Guyer. The GB he got out of him should have been charged by Andujar. Once Andujar got it as he did, he should have put it in his pocket. Also, Romine should have caught the throw from Bird. No errors given on the play, which is baffling. That being said, the Guardians gave away the lead and eventually the game due to poor D on Romine’s double and then little league inside the park homer with two errors tacked on. The pen once again dominated a really good lineup. 30 games over at the ASB usually gets you a ginormous lead at the ASB. Tip of the cap to the Sox who are on a historic pace
  16. How to blow a game Boone. We know hes still running the club. f*** him
  17. DD cannot, under any circumstances, enter August with any expectation that Blasier and Thornburg will pitch meaningful innings in big games. If he does, then he’s failed your club. If those two turn out to be really good, then bonus for you. But you can count on them more to go down with injury or ineffectiveness before you can expect them to make big pitches in high leverage games
  18. My guess is the Sox are gonna call up a DFA candidate and punt the final game of the first half of the season. Btw, how the mighty have fallen. Joe Kelly looked like he was heading towards a big payday, but his performance of late will likely remove him from high leverage situations
  19. DD is apparently looking for Kimbrel’s replacement, not a rental. That makes me think he’s going after Barraclough in Miami.
  20. I’ve said before and I’ll say it again, he’s the new age Willie Mays. Power, patience, speed, and defense, he has it all. In terms of all time greats, it’ll depend on his longevity. Mays had ridiculous longevity. Will Betts be able to stay healthy in that small frame of his for long enough to be an all time great, or will he go down as a Pedro style HOFer who was insane for a shorter period of time. Mookie clearly has HOF trajectory
  21. Eovaldi and Happ are killing their market right now. Both have been rocked of late. I wonder if coming out of the ASB is Sheffield will get a couple starts in German’s place. There’s a real chance the Yanks shore up the pen even further and leave the rotation in the hands of the four vets and a rotating kid. Cash is gonna do something for sure
  22. Gray has value. His splits show he’s a damn good pitcher when he’s not in NY or BOS.
  23. It seems 1b's don't get the love they should if they don't hit 30+HRs. Ockimey is hitting for good enough power and walking at a high clip. He's probably your best prospect right now in terms of offensive output
