    Sevy was not sharp but was good enough to win. The offense was relentless. The pen was solid enough. Chapman went down with a knee injury. Looks to just be tendinitis. Will probably have a couple days off

    That’s not my point. Boggs has been ripping the Yankee system yet has optimism that the stripped down and barren Sox system will blossom? It could happen, but it’d be blind luck rather than expectation at this point. The hypocrisy is deafening

    I want another Sox-Yanks ALCS. The only way for that to happen, though, is for the ALE top seed to be the 2 or 3 seed. Previously, two teams from the same division could not square off in the ALDS. Since the 5th team was added, that provision was removed. It’s very possible the Sox and Yanks play in the ALDS

    It is time for Cashman to stop playing 40 man roster shuffle and start putting the best players on the field. Our best pitching prospect is lighting it up in AAA. His last 5 starts he has thrown to this line. 30.1IP 23H 6ER 10BB 30K for a 1.78ERA 1.09WHIP and 9K/9IP. His stat line for AAA is just as solid overall at 2.61ERA, 1.16WHIP, 8.5K/9IP and 3.8BB/9IP. It is time for him to be in our rotation.

    So many errors here. Tanaka is back Monday Sabathia has been healthy and rather than wearing down, he is getting better. German's FIP and xFIP are very good. He hasn't been able to limit the big inning. The big reason why the Yankees will be "panicking" is Sonny Gray. He is currently our #4 starter should the playoffs start now and he is not competitive out there. We need another pitcher

    So Sonny Gray had been on a pretty good run until he saw the sox and got smashed. So be it. But today, in Toronto, away from the stress of Yankee Stadium, he lays another egg. He is not even competitive out there. Every pitch in the zone is down the heart. The only guy who cannot hit him is Martin. He's been here a full year. He's halfway through his first full year in NY. It's getting late early here Sonny. I think Cashman needs to seriously consider sending him elsewhere. He's Jeff Weaver, Ed Whitson, Denny Neagle. He has worth with another year of control and a heck of a track record. His stuff hasn't change. His FB velocity is the highest of his career at 93.2mph. He just cannot cut it in NY. Time to go

    Hall and Camarena did well through AA. The low velocity will kill him. He’s not a prospect

    The next wave led by Groome didn't develop. By dealing away and then missing on a few guys, the system became thin. DD's drafting and the development under him has not been strong

    Wait, so you're down on Yankee prospects on the national stage who are thriving yet you think the pile of trash in the sox minors will blossom? Dude, the sox are three years away only because of the INTL signings from the past few seasons. Otherwise, their drafts have been terrible and their development worse.

    They lost Cain, Hosmer, Holland, Herrera, Davis and Cueto via trade or FA. The one guy they extended (Gordon), turned into a pumpkin. Their ace, Ventura, died. The prospect machine was used to deal for pieces and then they started picking later in rounds. They need a rebuild. They got a title out of it and another world series berth. I think they'll take it

    The sox also sent two guys with Kopech and Moncada who had no experience above A ball. Basabe had just finished his first long season in A and was ok. Victor Diaz was coming off his first long season experience as a reliever as well. The sox didn't send them a third and fourth guy who had upper level experience. This is where I think you sell the Yanks short. They have a lot of pitchers with upper level experience, or at least more experience than Basabe and Cruz had at the time of the deal. We might be able to keep two of Sheff, Frazier and Florial when considering the rest of the packages available. We could package Acevedo, Tate, Florial and Swanson or Whitlock and still get the job done. NY has so many upper level pitchers that we have to move some. The question is, who are the mets gunning for and who do they absolutely need in return. They might get two top prospect and a pile of s*** or they can get one top prospects and three guys with proximity who will be in Queens within a few months

    Kimbrel was a great move even if he "overpaid". Getting him meant games were over after 8 innings

    The only guy in recent memory who came up as a mid to high 80s guy and have a good career was Buerhle. All others at least started with reasonable velocity and then became better pitchers as their velo fell

    Kent reminds me of Dan Camarena and Shaeffer Hall from Yankee minor league lore. Both were soft tossing lefties who dominated minor league competition but neither developed in terms of added velocity. They stalled in AAA and the org knew they had no shot in the bigs. Mark Buerhle's are rare beasts. Most soft tossing lefties came up as harder throwing lefties who lost velo after years of throwing. Starting off mid 80s is not going to be competitive in the majors
