  1. Has anyone seen what the guy Edwar Ramirez has done? Edwar is a freakishly skinny (6'3" 150lbs) pitcher who was signed by the Angels in 2001. After 2 yrs of poor performances, he was released. He kicked around the Indy league circuit before signing with the yankees at the beginning of last season. Last season, as a reliever in Tampa (High A) he put up a ridiculous line 4-1 1.17ERA 30.2IP 14H 47K 6BB 0.65WHIP So this yr, he was moved to Trenton. And boy was he good. 9G 3-0 0.54ERA 16.2IP 6H 1ER 33K 8BB That earned him a promotion to AAA. Thus far, in AAA, here is his line... 10G 0-0 4 Saves 1.02ERA 17.2IP 9H 2ER 29K 6BB So, to recap. His composite numbers since he signed with the yankees are... 7-1 65IP 7ER 29H 119K 20BB 0.96ERA .125BAA 0.75WHIP 16.5K/9IP His SR isnt all that intriguing. He throws a low 90s fastball, an average curve, but has one of the best changeups in the system. Chances are, he is gonna have to be called up at some point. And at 26 yrs old, he isnt too old for the system right now. It is intriguing. Is he more of a fluke or will he have success in the bigs. Hopefully we find out soon enough.
  2. he has a sick arsenal too. He was throwing 95-99 all game, had the slider working, was mixing in a curve, and surprisingly was throwing a good amount of changeups. The change is by far the least developed pitch and it sounded like he was using it a good amount.
  3. And he is likely done. 5IP 3H 0ER 2BB 9K as well as 4 shattered bats. solid game, GREAT start in AA from Joba the Hut.
  4. And he has struck out the side in inning #2. 2IP 6K!!
  5. fred, there isnt a corner to turn. Wake will have these kinds of starts and balance them out with his stinkers. It is the life of the knuckleballer.
  6. Mo is throwing smoke tonight.
  7. Chamberlain throwing 98-99mph, strikes out the side to start his AA career.
  8. For a second there, Farns looked like he was using his stuff the right way. Then he pusses out and walks a guy and leaves a cookie for Clark. Ah, the real Farns shows up.
  9. and a seed caught by Abreu.
  10. TAKE HIM OUT!!!
  11. here we go again. SHORT LEASH, SHORT LEASH!
  12. I hear ya. The farns is a heart attack waiting to happen.
  13. that was actually Matsui's fault. He has to go on that. We got an insurance run, but we could have had more.
  14. he's an organizational player for the most part. But he is pitching lights out. So why not, right?
  15. um, Robbie, WTF are you doing? 4-1
  16. dont look now, but the Guardians are in a free fall. They are now tied with the tigers for 1st in the central and 1st in the WC. But the Guardians have lost 3 in a row, 7 of 10, and 9 of 15. I have said before and I'll say it again. The Guardians dont have staying power. The Tigers do.
  17. Great play by Jeter. Saves a run. Great game CMW, but you are cooked. Lets score some runs.
  18. Wang is getting the ball up. CMON CMW!!!
  19. Wang has settled down. His sinker is money.
  20. this young man needs a stint in attica.
  21. useless rockie bullpen. How to have the momentum. Christ.
