  1. Nothing is being discussed. It was a writer's "idea".
  2. I saw a few clips of him. Mostly sitting 89-93. I dont know where the 97 is coming from
  3. its fixed, kinda
  4. For us, the biggest thing is which Manny are you getting. Are you getting the one from the end of his Boston run or the Manny from LA who was happy and actually hustled? Seeing as NYC is huge and he grew up there, I'd have to think he'd be happy off the field, which seemed to be his biggest problem in Boston. I dont see a 5yr deal coming any time soon, either and not at 30 mil a yr. I wouldnt be surprised if he got offered a 4yr 80 mil deal, though.
  5. http://www.nypost.com/seven/10302008/sports/yankees/yankees_may_gun_for_manny_135928.htm Interesting idea. Manny in RF in the Bronx. Its akin to the monster in Fenway since there isnt a ton of ground to cover and he does have a good arm. But if we have Damon no arm in LF and Manny no range in RF, we better have a CFer with both. This is gonna be an interesting off season.
  6. I think the sox end up dealing Coco. Theo has always said he wouldnt make a deal on a player for 50 cents on the dollar and dealing Coco last offseason would have been just that. But with a .280s BA and a .751OPS to go along with his speed and defense, he has some value now. And it may never be higher. There are a lot of teams that would want him to be their starting CFer and that could nab a good prospect or a developed Middle reliever.
  7. We'll see.
  8. we'll see how much they throw into the pot. The 80 mil coming off the books is nice to see. But they have 1b, CF, 3SP slots and then anything else you can think of. All of those are big money positions, and will likely cost the yankees dearly for filling them
  9. So, two things on the FA front. Earlier in the week, the dodgers were preparing a 2 yr 60 mil offer for Manny. McCourt seems to be doing this to appease the fans, while knowing that Manny will get more yrs on the open market. Manny and Boras keep talking about a 5-6 yr deal. But Manny turns 37 in May and is likely to see offers in the 3-4 yr range. I dont think anyone will beat McCourt's AAV of 30 mil, but 3yrs 75 mil or 4 yrs 90-100 mil might be offered by another contender Also on the FA front, the Brewers are prepared to offer CC Sabathia a 4 yr 100 mil contract. While the AAV is impressive, CC should expect a contract offer on the open market no shorter than 6 yrs at a similar but slightly lesser AAV. I could see someone beating a Johan deal of 7yrs 135-150 mil. CC is only 28 yrs old mind you and with his frame and power game, should continue to keep his fastball well into his later yrs. The question is, how long will the knees hold up.
  10. yeah, give him another one. He's gonna get a head coach offer this offseason. His schemes are ridiculous
  11. Dumbass. I find it interesting that you get undressed on this site daily by teenagers and you still think you are smart. You dont give up on players with lots of talent when they are 22. Thats a great way to ruin your team's future. But what would you know. Your brother got all the brains. You got, well, a computer and thats about it
  12. these balls are leaving the yard very quickly
  13. apparently he was drafted as a pitcher, but could also have been a 1st rounder as an OFer. Kinda like Ankiel
  14. Go Phils. I want this thing to be over. 15 days s/p the world series is when the madness begins
  15. you are a dumbass, I hope you burn
  16. The Gmen just showed that they are the best team in football. The Steelers were dominated and it took 2 broken plays for them to make this thing look close. 4 red zone opps by the giants to none by the Steelers with Ben hitting the dirt half the time he dropped back was impressive. Spagnuolo should get a massive raise and a guarantee of the head coach job when Coughlin retires. His schemes were awesome and the beasts on the front line were money
  17. He isnt Jack Cust. Cust is a guy who has massive HR potential and walks WAY more than Kottaras. Kottaras is a guy, who, IMO will show the power in the bigs, but will likely be a Phil Plantier type player. Mid 20s HRs, BA in the .210-.230 range and his defensive flaws will be magnified. He is not a very good catcher. He isnt quick behind the dish and doesnt have a very good arm. The question has always been, can the offense make up for what the defense lacks. And I dont think that will be the case. Hence, I expect him to be a Mirabelli type. Backup catcher who will hit the occasional tater
  18. he only recorded 6 outs past the 7th last yr. And thats a NL pitcher in an AWFUL division
  19. and infections are a part of life. We do everything in our power to try and control for them, but they happen, even when people do their best to prevent them. This is a risk that everyone faces when they go under the knife.
  20. If Brady is out for 2009, then this dynasty is over. Football changes so quickly, that the Pats will be totally different by then
  21. the only picks we can lose are our 2009 1st or 2nd round picks. Thats it
  22. I wouldnt be surprised if the jobs are a bit better this time around. I would assume Milwaukee would make a run
  23. Farrell is gonna get a managerial job offer this yr.
  24. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/teams/roster?teamId=235 He enrolled at Memphis to play Basketball
