we need a stop gap, that much is for certain. And it isnt like Cameron doesnt work walks. He's walked 193 times over the last 3 yrs. Its the BA that drives the OBP down. But what I'd want to see is if he can still go get it. If he doesnt have that great fielder's instinct and first step, then I dont want him. We need a CFer with a good arm AND solid range. Gardner has the range, not so much on the arm. Melky has the arm, but not the range. Jackson has both but isnt ready yet. Cameron would be a solid addition on the defensive side while providing power at the bottom of the order. The only other options are either in house or Mark Kotsay, who is in obvious decline. Aned the in house options include Melky, who had the worst season of any yankee OFer ever, Gardner, who is a notoriously slow starter and should get his work in at AAA before a mid yr callup, and Jackson, who did well in AA but obviously needs one more yr of seasoning
