  1. Lets see. Our best player didnt play a game until game 29. We have finished 43 games. To this point, ARod has missed 2/3 of our games Posada has missed 18 of those 43 games, in his stead, a rookie who hadnt played over AA has been playing Our ace over the last 3 seasons has been injured and really hasnt recovered to this point Our bullpen aside from Mo has been a pile of s***. Xavier Nady has played in only 8 of the 43 games we have played And yes, now we have tied you. And the scary thing is, all of the guys above are expected to recover. Wang is the most questionable of the bunch since he doesnt have a true injury to rehab. And Bruney may be the only true casualty of the season. And we have tied you. Since ARod came back, this team has been amazing. 12-3. So yeah, I am excited.
  2. CMon, say em. It isnt like I havent heard them before. The thing that the sox need to worry about is the 10 game roadie coming up. With the yankees finding new life and tampa starting to rise towards being on the minds of everyone in the ALE, this roadie for the sox will be huge. Beckett was lights out tonight, albeit against a light Mets lineup devoid of Reyes, Schneider, Church and Delgado. It didnt matter who he was facing though, he was on. And tomorrow the sox face Tim Redding. The last time the Red Sox saw him, he was in Yankee colors and the sox won by 20.
  3. Hell of a game. Great to see Papelbon getr what was coming to him from Omir Santos no less. Then he leaps out onto the field like the whiny **** that he is on a play that was clearly an out. I love seeing his name in the L column. Hope it happens more.
  4. ARod is actually hitting clutch homers and Melky is just dynamite in our last at bat. Solid win, albeit a lucky one. We once again got some depth from Pettitte, and aside from one pitch left up to Mayberry, he had a hell of a game. Now, NY and Boston are tied and Toronto is a game back in the L column.
  5. Hahaha. Man, they just keep coming. Good work ORS.
  6. How did he look tonight. I missed the game, but the line looked bad.
  7. Color me concerned Bruney is out once again with elbow soreness and they swear his MRIs are clean. Well, thats one thing about MRI's. They have a high specificity, meaning that there arent a lot of false positive, but their sensitivity for UCL tear isnt great, meaning they have a lot of false negatives. Recurring elbow pain in the absence of MRI findings tells me he's gonna head to the knife and they will likely find a frayed UCL and he'll have TJS. I did not see Wang pitch tonight as work got in the way. But judging by the fact that he was getting lit up like a Christmas tree makes me think that both his velocity and location are off. Something is amiss with him. Something he might need an entire offseason to fix. Or something he might not get back at all. We'll have to see how he does the next time around. But I am concerned about his ability to help this team. That being said, they seem to have found something in this Aceves guy. Maybe he steps up to swing man/7th inning guy, Coke moves into 8th inning and Mo stays in the 9th. At least we can build a semi reliable bridge to Mo while the rest of these guys sort it out. As it stands, if Veras, Edwar, Melancon, or Robertson dont make a difference and Marte and Bruney remain out for an extended period of time, I see a deal on the horizon. Huston Street will be availabe for the right price. We might have to meet that demand.
  8. Colby Rasmus OF StL Cardinals
  9. Ramirez hasnt had a history of durability actually. He missed almost all of 2007 with shoulder woes
  10. Tito is just sticking by his guy.
  11. 5 innings, 9 baserunners, 1 run, 114 pitches for DiceK. Thats the prediction.
  12. I dont think you understand the premise of moneyball if you are saying it is incorrect. The premise is to emphasize an undervalued trait. At the time, OBP and defense were not highly valued. Now, they are.
  13. that is complete fallacy. I would have said about Lester exactly what I said about Sabathia after his 5.2IP 1ER 11 baserunner performance against KC. He got the job done. It wasnt pretty, but he got the job done.
  14. do you mean undermine? No, I did not intend for it to downgrade his performance. I meant it as a compliment to him once he figured out he was getting it.
  15. I made no comment about it being bad. Lester was smart. When you see that you have 6 inches off a corner, you use it. He did. Good for him.
  16. the rule is generally, hitters dont do as well with 2 strikes. That is not debateable.
  17. He was lucky. But he also was smart when he needed to be. He got a lot more fine when there were runners on base. And he absolutely abused that outside corner once guys got on base.
