  1. Lots of pitches, but 6 solid innings from Burnett. Matsui is finding it again. THis has just become a different team since ARod came back
  2. right on time to see NY slip into a 1st place tie
  3. DiceK at 85 pitches through 4. He and Lester have been completely useless this season
  4. Burnett looks really good. We're hitting again. We have a shot to break this thing open.
  5. Cash is a proven defensive glove behind the plate. Thats all they want. And thats hard to find mid season off the waiver wire.
  6. Gom, I would love nothing more than to have Cervelli stay in NY, but I really dont think that is how its gonna happen. Here's why. Posada should get back about 1-2 weeks before Molina. And if you send Cash down, he hits waivers, has the capability to refuse his assignment should he clear waivers and then he has the capability to sign with another team. Whereas Cervelli need only use an option. So I think the Yankees will send Cervelli to AAA and keep Posada and Cash up as the two catchers. If Posada reinjures the hammy, then they can put him back on the DL and bring Cervelli back up. Also, Cervelli has been dynamite for us, but it is a small sample size and he does need to work on his offensive game. Having him start on a regular basis will help develop that. He has always been a good eye, gap power kind of kid. If he is able to develop any further power, he might project as a starter, which would significantly help this team.
  7. throw your f***ing fastball Joba. What the f*** is this s***
  8. are you f***ing kidding me Joba? What the f***? his first innings suck so f***ing bad. Hey Eiland, earn your f***ing money you **********. Figure this out.
  9. Joba still having tough first innings, WTF? Throw the cheese!
  10. they had a really good stat at the beginning of the game. Lester is allowing a .467BAA on the first pitch. Last yr, it was .267. Teams are figuring out why he was so successful last yr. Remember, the yrs before, he would get behind hitters and then end up with a good amount of walks and high pitch counts early. Last yr, he started putting cookies up there on the first pitch and teams waited on him, allowing him to get ahead. Now, they are jumping on it. Forcing him to nibble and getting him into deeper counts and more baserunners.
  11. not to say that I called it, but yeah, well, you get the idea.
  12. bang. Lester's rough inning rears its ugly head again.
  13. I would hope that all of us hold Hughes and Lester to different standards. One was the best left handed pitcher in the AL last yr not named Cliff Lee. The other is a 22 yr old kid who has been injured for the last 2 yrs.
  14. did Lugo just make a difficult play? Really?
  15. 2 guys reached base in the first. He had a runner on 3rd and less than 2 outs in the 2nd. And he had Mauer up with a RISP in the 3rd. He's at 55 pitches through 3IP as well. I dont see anything I am saying as ass kissing or biased. Its called being factual.
  16. it is the Young's, you are right. Dmitri was drafted 4th overall in 1991 and Delmon was #1 overall in I believe 02 or 03.
  17. 55 pitches through 3, but Lester continues to tapdance through machine gun fire
  18. The trade invlving Young ang Garza may be the worst trade of all time
  19. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jWXwpFFNSM&NR=1
  20. Lugo muffs it, but Morneau forgot he's slow and gets pegged at 2. Lester is lucky he got out of that inning.
  21. I was wondering where that went. I wanted that in the gamethread
